League 2 level. relegate 2 more teams to blue square premier and put celtic and rangers in league 2. it wouldn't be fair to make celtic and rangers non league, but at the same time it wouldn't be fair to fast crack them through the league
As a Rangers fan, I have no wish to see my team play in the EPL. Just doesn't appeal to me.
didn't Swansea play in the top flight under Toshack not so long ago,so what exactly is the 'precedent' ?

The precedent is that the top league in England is run by a different organisation than it was when Swansea played there in the 80s.
zach.. I hear what you are saying, but we have reached our peak in Scotland. Year in year out it is a two horse race with us statistically coming off better. If we are to progress as a team and as a business there is little alternative at the moment but to try and move South. I too see major problems with travel for our fans and opposition fans, but just look at the money that even the worst of the worst get down there. We would, within a few years flourish down there. I personally don't even think it would take a few years. Unless some form of NEW league is formed, which attracts TV money, then we will always be a big fish in a small pond. That becomes slightly boring if you ask me. If someone was to guarantee that Rangers would win EVERY game next season... i would rip up my season book now. We need better competition to keep things interesting.
Ish,
Lot of sheidt, we are Scottish we play in Scotland. All this bending over trying to get England to take us is nothing short of embarassing.
Yes it is a two horse race but at the end of the day, so is the EPL. your lucky if you have three teams in the mix these days.
I am Scottish and the league is what it is, i accept it.
The grass isnt always greener and the erchie will fall out of the EPL.

Chadams... don't be so parochial, "We are Scottish, we play in Scotland". The 'English' option is MY least favoured... but until an alternative league is formed, it is the best there is.
Zach - "I have no desire to watch Rangers V Wigan/Stoke/WBA "
Would you rather watch us play St Mirren, St johnston, Hamilton, Ross County, etc instead? No disrespect to them.
Welsh teams playing in the EPL.
That opens the door to Celtic and Rangers playing in the EPL. Celtic and Rangers are also-rans in Europe, It's time we were getting the same cash as the `Wigans and Stokes' and enter a competitive league for once.

OP...
Do you see it as unfair when two clubs are bringing the 2nd and 5th biggest attendances in Britain, that they should have to start from the bottom...
You can stick yer English piety
Ish, agree with you totally. This 4 times a season lark is going to finish Scottish football. As you say we would soon flourish down there due to our support and resources, ably assisted by Sky money. The argument put forward about travelling to away games doesn't wash - German, Italian and French fans for example have to travel huge distances to away games. The sooner the better I say, not just for Celtic and Rangers, but for Scotish football in general.

The 4 times a season lark as you call it sold out seven times this year.
*************
Old Firm games would sell out 700 times. Plenty of empty spaces at Kilmarnock -Celtic and St. Johnstone - Rangers for example.
English fans also have long distances to travel and seem to manage ok. There isn't a strong culture in Germany of going to away games. As for Italy I saw plenty of Juventus fans when I was at a game in Naples a few years ago.

For starters I'm a proud Welshman with a Scottish father (Albion Rovers Supporter). I'm also very proud of my Scottish heritage. Like I said in my op I would rather not see Scottish sides playing in England, I was just asking for peoples opinions. However, if they were invited to play in England I think it would be fair for them to start near the bottom. It would be unfair on Accrington Stanley to do otherwise. There are at least six Welsh clubs in the English football pyramid. Swansea, Cardiff, Newport, Wrexham, Colwyn Bay and Merthyr Tydfil so there is a precedent. My opinion is if the Premier League clubs got a much improved tv deal as a result of you coming down here then it would definitely happen. The main concern is what would happen to the other clubs in Scotland. It would be interesting to hear the views of fans of Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen and other SPL clubs.

"...as I said my wee boy loves going to away games(New ST. Mirren is a favourite)So you can keep the EPL for me"
Zach... I believe that could still be accommodated, with a 'B' team of young up-and-coming players playing in the SPL. This could be the same with Celtic. The intricacies of this could be worked out by the powers that be. This would allow other Scottish teams to have a better crack of the whip with regards winning the league and achieving European football and the financial rewards that can offer. It would also allow a better standard of competitive football for our youngsters, helping them get closer to first team positions. No disrespect to you or your wee fella, but there is a much bigger picture. i have three sons who all loved/love going to the football. at the end of the day we are a business.... and the only way we will make money and afford/attract players who can successfully compete in Europe proper, is by the 'English' option.... until something else comes to fruition.
I dont care about financial insentives, its called selling yourself out.
Rangers are two massive clubs situated in a small country, deal with it. It is what it is.
Its not being parochial at all. Its like pinocchio wanting to be a real boy, shut it, your made from wood.
and Celtic**
