Well this was almost a replica of Northampton away. Gilt-edged chances spurned, too much forcing rather than control, lack of quality in the final third, crosses into the box predictable and therefore defendable and in the end thank goodness for Wildsmith. He at least had a shot to save (a brilliant save) whereas their goalie had precious little to do.

Maybe the pressure is beginning to tell but it must be the same for all the other contenders except Portsmouth now.

We must keep plugging away and hope Bolton and Peterborough have lapses.

While no-one played badly as such no-one played particularly well. I was disappointed by how few times our wingers were given the ball in dangerous areas and it seems that playing just two in midfield is not enough. Having said that when the appropriate change was made it did not make that much of a difference.

We’re guaranteed a play off spot

At this level even good chances only seem to be taken about 50% of the time. We have had a few 3-0 away wins when every chance seemed to be scored. Tonight could have been one of those games. Instead the coin came up tails three times in a row in the first half. As at Northampton though I felt we got too frantic which ends up being counter-productive, and someone needs to tell NML that it isn't all down to him to find the magic moment.
