Thought you were the better side tbf but it’s them ,they just seem to get the job done

Haaland misfired and KDB looked a bit off otherwise City imo would’ve made the cut
Foden is overhyped purely on the basis that he’s English and tends to disappoint in big games
It was a good game but it served no purpose for city fans just more pain
120 mins at home but only managed 1 goal doesn’t bode well tbh

This is the weakest the CL has been in a long long time. Huge opportunity missed.

In saying that you were comfortably the better team and as you said sometimes it's just not your night.

Chipping a ball straight at the keeper is a sackable offence. Players need to just pound it in as hard as they can. Slowing the ball down just aids the keeper.

I feel better today than I have done in the past when they’ve beaten us. Thought we played well and just didn’t take our chances, on another day it could have been a similar scoreline to last year.

That’s the CL though and why even in a weak year, it’s a tough competition to win.

What do you make of KDB and Haaland asking to come off? Pretty damning I thought.

The best manager currently still working in the game is Pep. Undeniable. He's managed to win it once in what 8/9 attempts now with pretty stellar City teams.

You're quite right Melts ....the best team doesn't always win it. I thought we were comfortably the best team in Europe in 2/3 seasons we didn't win the thing. Just didn't get the luck needed to win the thing very often.

Yep, it’s fine lines. I don’t think the PL helps much, particularly at the latter stages, either.

Not sure who’s going to win it now. You’d think Real given they seem to always find a way but they’ve got obvious weaknesses too.

I'd say it's very open now City are out. Everyone else is pretty much on a even keel.

Madrid will probably find a way though you're right. Scary times though if this average side wins it. Mbappe joining soon too.

Pep leaving soon, Barca looking a mess, Bayern not themselves, could well be entering another period of them dominating it.

City were by far the better side, it’s just one of those things that happen sometimes.

Englands chances of getting the 5th CL spot reduced massively as soon as the draw was made and you can see why, City would have floored every other side in the competition. Real Madrid were the only side capable of beating them and it’s just bad luck they met when they did. Watching the CL this week I still believe City are the best side in Europe, they made Real Madrid play like Pulis West Brom

Funny you say that I was thinking the same thing.

We weren’t at our best and some players performed below par but still we managed to make them park the bus. I am not sure if its freshness but this won’t change so PL teams will always be at a disadvantage in Europe.

Another note, Carvajal is a vile creature and Bellingham like the first leg was play acting any chance he got which was disappointing to see, as he doesn’t need to and should have been focused on his game.

Positives from last night… Walker broke Vinicious Jr

On Bellingham. He's definitely getting terrible at trying to ref the game.

It was a huge opportunity that we didn't take, whether by lack of luck or otherwise. If Foden, Bernardo, or KDB took their chances. Or if Haaland's header was an inch lower, we might be singing a different tune today.

History books wouldn't refer to any of that though, only that Madrid went through.

Brush our shoulders off and try our best for the Chelsea semi-final, and the remaining 6 PL games.

Grealish looked their most dangerous player, thought bringing on Doku was too early tbh, Carvajal dealt with him quite easily.

Madrid will be a different animal next season. Can only see them getting stronger from here on out.

Agreed. Doku was a strange signing really. Like a poor mans Adama Traore without the baby oil.

Grealish was unlucky to go off, Doku got the assist at the end of the day though
