I didn't want him to win it but that is pretty sad.

I also think it devalues the tournament just a little bit when one of the big favourites has to withdraw.

Well the draw has opened up for Zverev now. It's a good chance for him to reach the final but let's see!

Well, my boy Medvedev is out, so, I reckon Sinner.
But it’s all in Ruuds hands now.

I don’t understand that, I watched the final set in the match last night and Djokovic didn’t look that injured, he was running down drop shots, doing the splits, having long baseline rallies. He was making some mistakes but more mistakes have crept into his game like all players when they are above 35.

I remember Nadal playing Fritz at Wimbledon and similarly I never fully knew when Nadal was injured in a tournament because pretty much every time he lost, he apparently had an injury. But in that particular match, Nadal looked really injured and wasn’t moving properly. You could tell he was in real pain.

I never felt that yesterday. Anyway, hope he recovers as soon as possible.

I put it down to adrenaline… to me he looked facked.
I even said, I felt he was gonna lose to Ruud anyway..
but it’s a real shame he’s had to retire from the tournament,

I want that to be the Final. 2 of my favourite players.

First time in 20 years it will be a final without any of the Goat’s

Sinner for me

It would be great to see De Minaur or Tsitsipas win it, but I reckon Sinner's the only one with a chance of beating Alcaraz.

I just think, Sinner is reaching his potential already… I was thinking Medvedev would dominate for at least a few years, taking the crown from Novak…
But it looks like Alcaraz and Sinner have arrived.

Tsitipas is another.. but he’s got demons.

How bad are some of these young players when 37 Djokovic on his worst surface can beat you when he is so injured he has to retire himself the next day?

Same thing happened with Nadal in Wimbledon 22 when he was injured on his worst surface and beat Fritz

Well there is a flip side to that coin… you’re talking aboot generational talent that have that will to win, and the young’uns on the other side of the net, don’t have the experience and fortitude to get the job done.

You just cannot underestimate the pressure that comes…

Sounds like excuses for a very weak generation.

You can have that will to win as much as you like, but if you are that injured that your mobility if affacted, a player over 10 years your junior should be able to put you away.

Taylor Fritz lost to Nadal who was playing on his worst surface and there were certain shots he literally could not play due to his injury. He lost the match and said on social media "Today I lost to my hero"

That is a really pathetic attitude in my opinion.

I just flipped the coin, but I’m in agreement with ya…
But I would say mentally weak.
Saw it happen with Serena Williams too. Something just overwhelms them.
