Good article. There are few more loathsome people in British politics right now, and that's saying something. The man is a complete and utter slimeball.

As for Culer, he also filtered and deleted me from that article for asking why on Earth people still engage with him, when they are well aware he is a weirdo who likes saying controversial things for attention. (He continues to respond to Cleverson who has on several occasions on that article asked him to kill himself - point proven I think). But my point stands - why people haven't learnt to ignore him by now, I don't know.

Yep. But unfortunately this is why the people who want to vote for him will. They agree with his views.

I imagine the last thing Farage wants is to actually get elected.

It would (or should) mean his nonsense would get laid bare for all to see.

Although with the way the Tories have behaved over the last few years perhaps he'd be more confident than in the past of taking office. Telling lie after lie while the country goes to shiiiiite through awful policies and cronyism was fine with a huge chunk of the British public when it came from a similar clown in Johnson.

I think when you take Farage out of the equation, because let's be frank about it, Reform aren't winning many, if any seats, just like every manifesto there are good and bad things within it.

The whole schtick of Farage is trying to make far-right politics seems as reasonable and palatable as possible. He will therefore chuck into the mix some views and suggestions that are moderate and that appeal to people outside of the racist tent. It's a trick that extremists have played since the dawn of politics. Hitler used the word 'socialist' in the name of his political party while putting actual socialists in concentration camps. (Obviously an extreme example and I'm not claiming Farage is Hitler before someone leaps on that.) The presence of some reasonable points in a policy platform that is both racist and unworkable doesn't make the manifesto 'a mixture of good and bad'. It's still a racist platform that was never designed for governance.
