The odds of random stop and searches actually stopping events such as Southport are minuscule.

That's only one of the measures I'd like to see taken tbf.
Police all on the streets actually doing what they should be doing. Keep the streets safer and not stuck behind desks. Numbers need to be increased too.
There's more that could be done which is a step forwards. There's no real argument to not do that because some attacks still might happen. Are we meant to give up?

And to my knowledge we don't even release the ethnic background / religion stats of criminals in this country so how he knows that I'm not quite sure.
Kids being murdered needs to stop. Don't care who does it. Lucy Letby isn't an immigrant and she killed 7 kids. Just the same in my eyes. That kind of evil can't ever be rehabilitated. They can't ever be released.

I don't think anything special needs to be done. We just need to fix what the Tories destroyed, which is what has put the country in the mess it's currently in. Fix the police and staff them well, fix the judiciary and staff them well, fix the NHS and staff them well etc. That's how you fight crime IMO.

Innocent people should embrace stop and searches for example if it makes an incident like yesterday less likely to happen. Obviously we can never have 0% risk but we should strive for the best we can possibly do surely?
Standing around and hoping it doesn't happen again isn't the solution. It will happen again in other UK towns and cities.

Police are supposed to be trialling hand held x-ray scanners by the end of the year to deal with knife crime. No need to stop and search anyone unless they're carrying a knife

Humans are a massive issue. Pigeons watching from lamp posts must be like why the hell do we have to keep putting up with this? Imagine if animals could think, how much they'd think humans have ruined Britain? And with good reason. Britain would be a much better place without humans.
