But unlike AwB, Mazaouri can play at LB and is far more experienced than Malacia. I don’t think Amass is near being ready to start for us which is fine because he’s not 17 years old.

I’m pretty sure the fact Mazraoui can play at LB was a big reason we bought him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It might well be, but Dalot can also cover at LB, so Mazraoui being able to play there doesn’t make a huge difference.

We need two players capable of staying fit for most of the season at RB and we need two at LB. We cannot, and the technical team will obviously recognise this, go into a season with three senior players to cover two positions. Either Amass is considered ready or we need, and I’m sure they’ll be after, a LB.

Diamonds comment on the other thread has really triggered you.

Was it really worth a whole thread to repeat your response to Diamond?

Everyone knows Dier played alongside the Dutch Dier and not in place of him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Another season and our obsessed spuud Devonshire is offering his thoughts on anything united again.

Everyone who has made any kind of an effort to educate themselves. Comments from various people across multiple threads would suggest that many haven’t bothered.

I’ve read numerous times the ‘Dier took de Ligt’s place’ BS over the past month, even Scholes was saying it yesterday.

I think most are just using an easy (inaccurate) claim to pull a few Utd chains...seems to be working

But it isn’t just rival fans is it?

Scholes said this on the Overlap podcast for Sky.

“With Man Utd, we’re talking about players who can’t get into their team. He’s [De Ligt] not playing for them [Bayern], that has to be a big concern, especially when Eric Dier is playing in front of him. That is a massive concern for me."

Opinions are like arrrseholes. Unfortunately everyone had them. Just be nice if you cracked on worrying about your own team instead of being camped on our board this season

Yeah, Paul Scholes and Tim Sherwood are clearly out to pull a few United chains on ja606

While I agree another LB would be good, we need a CM first. It's difficult not to get carried away as we are making good signings but when Ineos took over, we knew we couldn't sort every issue in one window given the financial restraints.

Which podcasts are you listening to? I might suggest finding some better alternatives which do at least some cursory research.

Talk of the Devils from The Athletic and (if you prefer something much lighter) the Stratford Paddock team usually get their facts right, and are both clear about where they’re delivering hard and fast info and where they’re delivering opinion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ESPN FC, The Two Robbies, a couple of others I think, as well as hearing Scholes and Rio say it.

Also I listen to both of those recommendations already. It’s more the ones that aren’t focused on just United.

Sounds like we’re concentrating on getting a CM next and Mendes is working his magic to get the Urtage deal done. Also a possibility we can sell Sancho to PSG which means we could end up doing some kind of inflated deal for the 2 to help each other with PSR.

Surprised we haven’t heard anything about Pellistri, clearly has no future at the club and after an ok Copa America you'd think this is the ideal time to sell

I wouldn’t be surprised to see us bring in loan cover for LB. What a facking mess that position is.

Time will tell as to how they both perform but at least the prices paid were good which makes a fking change

Seems logical, both in light of budgetary limitations and the fact that on paper at least we have both Shaw and Malacia in the squad. It would be ironic if we invested in a senior LB and then both of them were fit for the rest of the season.

Scholes has created a second career for himself criticising United. His legend status in my eyes is slowly eroding.

Him and Ferdinand both. Although Ferdinand’s erosion is down to how utterly stupid and boorish he is.

Rio can be an insightful pundit and interesting interviewer when he tries. He's often included in the lowest tier category because some people can't look past the way he looks and talks.
