Some tough decisions to be made....IMO, handing 15%, back dated, to train drivers was an easy one that they got wrong.
Nurses deserve more, no debate, more than train drivers.
I find their Black Hole narrative very unconvincing. They have spoken about tough decisions, they have spoken about spending shortages and then they cave in to ASLEF, going against the "tough decisions" narrative and contributing further to the spending shortfall.
Hence my comment....They have taken a tough stance on the WFP, but not against any Union

Interesting now that Starmer et al are being criticised for their overly negative messaging.
Serving their own means by painting a doom and gloom picture about our finances and economy, to justify whatever they do in the next budget, does not help the economy on the micro or macro scale.
Similarly, now the NHS are pushing back on repeated claims that it's broken. Again almost a slogan of the Labour party which is not useful messaging when you consider those who need to use it, the attempts to attract and retain employees etc
Labour still with a lot to learn about how their messaging lands. They're not the opposition anymore where you can almost say what you want without consequence.
But also, their messaging (or any Govts/Party) should not fool people that everything they say is gospel truth. It is serving a purpose, their own political purpose.

If you just miss out on pension credit you lose over 3 grand a year and your WFP and this policy was brought in to save £1.5billion a year but Labour also stated they want everyone who is eligible to claim pension credit and they will start pushing for them to claim.
So at the average rate of £75pw x 52 x 880000 = tel:3432000000 (three billion four hundred thirty-two million) Labours money saving strategy if succesful would create a bill of £2 Billion more a year if all those who are eligble claimed pension credit. And while creating the new precipice they may actively harm millions of pensioners who just miss out on PC, this is absolute madness and the fact anyone thinks it's a credible plan amazes me.
If these are the "grown up detail orientated economically sound" now people running the country then we are fecked

Some tough decisions to be made....IMO, handing 15%, back dated, to train drivers was an easy one that they got wrong.
Nurses deserve more, no debate, more than train drivers.
I find their Black Hole narrative very unconvincing. They have spoken about tough decisions, they have spoken about spending shortages and then they cave in to ASLEF, going against the "tough decisions" narrative and contributing further to the spending shortfall.
Hence my comment....They have taken a tough stance on the WFP, but not against any Union

Interesting now that Starmer et al are being criticised for their overly negative messaging.
Serving their own means by painting a doom and gloom picture about our finances and economy, to justify whatever they do in the next budget, does not help the economy on the micro or macro scale.
Similarly, now the NHS are pushing back on repeated claims that it's broken. Again almost a slogan of the Labour party which is not useful messaging when you consider those who need to use it, the attempts to attract and retain employees etc
Labour still with a lot to learn about how their messaging lands. They're not the opposition anymore where you can almost say what you want without consequence.
But also, their messaging (or any Govts/Party) should not fool people that everything they say is gospel truth. It is serving a purpose, their own political purpose.
