Poor from JG an Sa apparently. Gotta try and stay in it now before we send the grown ups on.

Oh well, maybe not then.

Remember pond coming off the bench for the Blackpool game last season and then going out on loan

Going well then ffs

As with last season, we can't afford injuries it seems as our back up options ain't got it for the most part.

Excellent from Doherty

Here we go, fightback is on

Bet GON was winding up for a big rant at HT, then Guedes burst his bubble.

Guedes surely ahead of Hwang in future right??

Even Stevie wonder can see that surely

Guedes has done ok but Rodrigo Gomes, Hwang and Sarabia done little. Hope we can stay in the game for 20 minutes then bring the cavalry on

The cavalry came on and very nearly did it.

One of the games, for me, where the performance (in the second half) was more important than the result.

Doyle and Guedes did well. One or two others were OK. Pond had a goodish game. Sarabia was poor and Hwang was totally anonymous.

A few bright sparks in that game. We could have pinched it

Sa for me has to do better with the 3rd goal. You can't parry the ball centrally that's coached from a young age

Much the better team second half. Doyle and Guedes our best players. Thought Sa could have done better with a couple of the goals. Don’t win many games if you concede 3

We've forgotten how to win at the moment and that is a huge concern

Missed our second as had left ground, Gomes lost possession for one goal maybe he should have been given a shout ,but he knows Brighton press quick, Sa definitely iffy, we played well second half, thought Forbs looked decent, Pond ok, and Gomes , Guedes got offside a lot and missed a sitter, need a win somewhere, have got ticket for Villa so hopefully there

Didn't see the match over here, but another defeat and 3 more goals conceded. By all accounts Hwang was dreadful yet again.

I'll keep banging the drum, but we have to go back to a back 3.

Back 3 or 4 isn't the problem we have right now. Last night had nothing to do with formation, nor did Saturday

Brighton are one of the best teams in the country at retaining possession and pressing the opposition. And in the first half last night they looked a much better team than us by doing just that. But in the second half we took them on at their own game and outplayed them for most of the 45 minutes.

Disappointing to lose again of course but GON may have dropped on a style of play that can serve us well for the remainder of the season. And to adopt that with closer to our first choice 11 should work out well

posted on 19/9/24

Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle and Brighton are self evidently four of the best teams in the country at the moment. At times during our most recent encounters with them we have at least matched them, and at other times we have looked much the better the team.

Just a shame we lost all four matches and conceded 13 goals .....

Can't say I am too concerned yet. Fixtures have been unhelpful in general but we have some real quality in our ranks and will get results soon enough.

How does Hwang get anywhere near selection now? He is a well below average player at best.

Evidently he'd agreed personal terms with Marseille and he wanted to move on in the summer.

It's never a good idea to keep an unhappy player and we are evidently inevitably paying the price for turning down, what was at the time, a really good offer of 36 billion won.

I said at the end of last season that his value would never be as high again after his goals last season. We were crazy to turn down the £22m on offer from Marseille.

Thought Guedes has done well in both the Carabao Cup games and his whole attitude seems totally different to his first spell in the team. Personally I’d select him in the Premier League ahead of Hwang, Sarabia or Bellegarde

My choice for the Villa game would be;

Johnstone
Semedo, Mosquera, Dawson, Ait Nouri
Joao, Andre
Guedes, Lemina, Cunha
Strand Larsen
