Probably because the season is 50+ games long and not 5 games.
Also look how quickly the game changed yesterday when he got injured
Kovacic is a massive downgrade

No one's mentioned the fact City won the Community Shield and the first 4 games of the season without Rodri.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Stone will play in the position I guess.
From memory he was pretty good there in 22/23
Palmer, thats a decent call I recall him playing there, similar position, and he was impressive, a defo downgrade on Rodri imo but certainly could do well there again
"there are to many games" thats coming from a Man-city fan? OK then simple finish outside of the champions league places and play the under 15s in the cups and problem solved..
If you want to win major trophies you play more games. Doesn't take a mastermind to work that out.
I mean finish also out of European places as well ^^^

That doesn’t mean you can’t disagree when those competitions add even more games to their schedules or don’t want to see other competitions completely devalued as a consequence.
Don't compete and stay out.. simple
That would be great for fans wouldn’t it!
You’re making a partisan point on a non partisan issue.
Arsenal bombed out of both domestic cups at an early stage last season.
Presumably that was because they wanted to play fewer games.
Rodri and Alisson both complain about number of games and then both conveniently get mysterious injuries.
Yeah, that's definitely a coincidence

ACL injury is a nightmare, done mine years ago whilst boxing, was out for the best part of a year and I also played Basketball and that pretty much knackered that, obvs Rodri will be getting far superior care and medical assistance but it is still a horrible injury with anything dynamic sporting wise
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Interesting that. I done mine + meniscus playing football and kickboxing is the only thing I can do sport wise atm. Awful injury and wish id broken a leg instead.

He’s an overrated player anyway, all the Ballon d’Or talk was hilarious really given his obvious limitations as a player. Sometimes when players get pushed down the public’s throat too much, like the media did with him, things don’t quite pan out.
Arsenal PL Champions #loading …

I can’t believe I’m about to bite on this, but here we go…
If Rodri is that overrated, why does his injury guarantee Arsenal the title?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s a good player and his absence helps us. We were already favourites after yesterday’s result (they needed to win really), and now this makes us prohibitive faves.
He’s just not the player that people make him out to be.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’ve got a chance but you’re not favourites by a long long long way. It’s City. They will win, they always win.
Why were Arsenal favourites, they drew at the Etihad last season and were clear at the top of the league at this stage?
Arsenal could be in the relegation zone with 1 game to play and liquididot would still believe they'd be favourites to win the league.

To be honest Rodri is right, there are too many games. I don’t know why they added more games to the CL group stage and reward teams with less games if they win more points. The old system was fine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
More games added to UCL - between 2 - 4 depending on where you end in the league.
But its also the amount of rest players get.
Mid season break not happening this season.
A Club world cup in Summer 2025
WC 2026 expanded to 48 teams and now played over 5 weeks, so less rest and more games.
They are saturating the game for financial profit and not even asking the players. What other sectors behave like that ?
Are rugby and NFL clubs expected to play 2/3 times a week for 11 months of the year?
Rodri went on the international break and the feedback he got was that players may go on strike
That was interpreted as Rodri, on his own, was going on a solo strike without the backing of any other professional player 😹
The true sign of an 24 carat plastic. Crowing about a rivals injuries. Utterly pathetic.
Rodri is right. There are too many shiite games both for club and country. No one wants them not the players, the clubs or the fans.
