Live game was Wales 3 v Spain 0, 1985 at the Racecourse.
On tv it's the 1999 UCL Final.
I was lucky enough to see Ronaldo a few times at Old Trafford.
I also so Rivaldo play against Wales in 2000.

Sorry Ram, I missed it by six months. I wasn't there until February '99 for the rugby. I remember we stayed in Rosyth but because of the hospitality of your countrymen I remember little else.
However, had I been there I'm sure I would have included you instead of Ronaldo.

Not sure it was my favourite but in terms of how I'd love Derby to play. Champions League when Napoli played Liverpool and beat them 4-1.
2nd half was a bit meh....but 1st half Napoli just blew them away showing us what 'attacking, skilful football is all about.' Without spending billions.

I can’t fault Scouse’s choices. Live I would give honourable mentions to the play-off second leg against Southampton and, for sheer joy, Ten Men Day. On TV I would bung in the Liverpool vs Newcastle game that they are forever showing on Sky repeats where Collymore scores late on to end Keegan’s hopes of the title, and also the Arsenal vs Man U semi-final at Villa Park which Giggs won with an astonishing solo goal and ran around the pitch twirling his shirt above his head.

At last I'm responding to my own questions spurred on by Heb's cheeky and invalid entry re his three goals ( he could not have watched that game as he was playing in it!)
Best game was on TV - European Cup Final in 1960 at Hampden Park in front of 127000 fans in which Real Madrid beat Eintracht Frankfurt by 7-3 - record score and record attendance for a EC final. Puskas and Di Stefano each scored a hat-trick! An incredible game of football which had everything.
Best player - probably George Best. I saw him a few times when I was at Manchester Uni and he also played at the BBG in an FA Cup game in which Man U beat us fairly easily. (I well remember Dennis Violet too, a really deep-lying centre forward who also played in that game.)
As an aside, I envy Scouse having actually seen Messi and those present at Elland Road when we won through to the play-off final. I was lucky enough to be at the BBG when we beat Real Madrid. So many great games and players but I will stick with my choices.

Great choices Chicago. Although I was having an out of body experience at the time and saw it all.........
