Absolutely ridiculous.
Welcome to woke and PC gone mad Britain.

Whats 'absolutely ridiculous' about being reprimanded for racist behaviour?
I fully support the stamping out of racist behaviour and I appreciate that ( except for the height of the Brexit debate) I have received nowhere the amount of racist comments as I did as a young Asian in London in the 60s and 70s. But this ban seems over the top. I have worked in South Korea a couple of times and I did find that I was having difficulties recognising people at first. The danger of such a ruling is that it could undermine the efforts to stamp out racism and the Anti Woke morons fuel to ridicule these efforts

Listen, by trying to appease racist and be soft on them etc, you do nothing but basically say 'it's ok guys, just crack on'.
Why do you care about anti-woke morons for, whatever you say or do won't change their dumb minds anyway.
The minimum the FA can give for racism is 6 games so this makes sense tbh. You have to leave room for something milder

Its a shame because he finally re-finding his best form after his injuries. Sadly, despite being in Uruguay he was not on official international duty at the time of the comments. He's was therefore representing Spurs and therefore subject to FA sanctions ..... Its totally different to Fernandes who was representing Argentina at the time of the offensive song he sang and not subject to FA punishment...... In short, players need to grow up and stop making stupid racist comments
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I did not know that, interesting.
I think Enzo is still under investigation. He’ll get a ban at some point. Maybe international games only.
By this yardstick, Sewerez got off lightly when banned for 10 games after he took a huge bite out of Ivanovic, mind you, that`s more to do with the club he was representing at the time.
Think the punishment in isolation is fine, but much like talk around referees the issue is when there's such a lack of consistency in how decisions are made.
I haven't heard anyone discussing the massive difference between saying "Sonny and his cousins all look the same" and "S Koreans all look the same".

I don't look anything like my cousins. I'm sure Bentacur doesn't know what Sons cousins look like.
He can argue that its not a racial slur at all. If someone said me and my brother look the same, I would not be offended.
I might reply that he needs a pair of specs.
Reference to someone by a pejorative nickname like "niggaa"...that's a slur. Mohammed Ali refused the US army draft in the Vietnam war saying "no Vietnamese ever called me Niggaa".
It's almost as if context is important
I wonder how many Vietnamese people Ali had met at that point
I feel this is an OTT punishment, particularly as the racial part is implied, not explicit.
The test will be what happens to others.
As above, there are far worse things that can be said. In fact it would be hard to find a more mild insult than what Bentancur said.
So if this is the benchmark, then perpetrators of more offensive crimes will be looking at what, 10 games?

As I said above, what Bentancur is reported to have said is not a racial slur at all.
If he had said "all these chinks look the same", that would be using a racial insult.
I think he can appeal the ban and take the stupid FA to court for loss of wages etc etc.
That would have been outrageously racist. Bentancur was just normal levels racist

The FA set 6 game minimum, 12 game max for racism. Given this is (I think) the first case since the rules come in it's understandable they didn't go with the lowest.
Spurs are appealing the length of the ban…
In all likelihood it’s only going to be reduced by one game…

I'm not sure that is advisable. Whatever your views on the severity, it is not a good look especially, as you say, it only gets lowered by 1.
