I had a bit of a sixth sense that he wasn't well, he was coaching then retired, but usually even the retired pop up for interviews or are seen at venues, but nothing from Terry, RIP,

I was dismayed to read the news reporting his passing. I didn’t know Terry had been ill. He was a quiet, likeable fellow who was one of the stalwarts of the late 70’s and beyond when I used to watch snooker on television regularly. I look back to Cliff Thorburn’s 147 at the Crucible (where Terry was on the receiving end) and the memorable scene where Cliff, Terry & Bill Werbeniuk embraced at the finish.

Really sad news, was a slow player but got the job done on many occasions and was also a very good coach.

One thing I liked was he was a character and he didn’t take himself too seriously.

Loved Ray Reardon too, fantastic player and character, loved hearing both of these guys talk about snooker.

He was suffering from dementia in his later years, which can't have been easy on him or his family, but probably explains why we didn't see him on tv etc.

I remember when they were reviewing Cliff''s 147 in a BBC segment, the camera showed Terry when there were about 2 or 3 reds left and it was someone like John Virgo who made a passing comment, 'Terry probably thinks he can still win the frame' .

Not just a contrast in styles in his many battles with Alex, but also how they smoked - Alex used to puff his like he was running out of nicotine, Terry smoked his in such a 'gentle' way

The last of the 3 great Welsh stalwarts along with Mountjoy and Reardon.

I was reading Mark Williams statement. It was particularly sad when he said the last time he saw Terry, he wasn't sure if Terry knew who he was......
