Wait, Poch deserved more time after 5 years after bottling everything and breaking our transfer record on a McDonad's employee?

What injuries did we have on Sunday from our starting line up bar Vic?

That’s was our strongest 11 bar Vic and at a push Bentancur.

Of course we’re the only side in the league that get injuries.

The other issues with Ange and injuries are:

We heard “wait until we get our players back” last year - nothing improved when they were back

Secondly, we will always have a high amount of injury’s because of the way he has us playing and training

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ange already bottled CL qualification last year - couldn’t get us beating a City side we always beat and got all salty and blamed the fans.

Bottled it against a City side we always beat in the FA cup and threw us under the bus at Fulham in the league cup.

Poch got us to cup finals, we might not have won, but I’d take that sort of bottling again over Nuno’s Forest being comfortably above us, Bournemouth and Fulham playing us off the park and us giving Palace and Ipswich their first wins of the season by bottling those games.

If Slot came to Spurs he would have to deal with losing Kane a day before the season starts and being left with a squad which is not good enough to handle 4 competions.

Three more windows.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What’s going to change in 3 windows? Is Levy going to buy the players we need, sell the ones we don’t and keep hold of the family silver - it will be the first time he ever has in his tenure. He semi did it once with Poch and then sacked him 3 months later.

If Levy was going I would say let’s give Ange more time, but levy isn’t going anywhere. Will Levy buy Ange 2 top players in every position so we can play the high octane style 50-60 games a season and ultimately be successful without running the squad into the ground by Xmas - I think not.

Will Ange adapt and change things so the squad isn’t bolloxed by Xmas - I think not.

So we’re just delaying the inevitable. The next man is needs to be someone who can work with what they have, expect very little transfer wise, whilst playing good football but with a steel edge. That man should be Iraola.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Iraola already has that where he is. Why would he take a sidestep to work with levy?

His star is on the rise and I expect he will want to go to a club where he can challenge next

Probably the same reason slot saw through levy and didn’t come

It will probably be safegate. Perfect yes man.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we're being truthful then it isn't a sidestep. We have better players than Bournemouth, spend more, have a bigger stadium, are a bigger club etc. There's a higher ceiling to achieve despite what we want to say about Levy. It's why we've been up by the CL places for the best part of the last 2 decades.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We’re just about attractive enough to entice him at the moment I think, we have regularly qualified for Europe and been in and around CL spots.

If we wait too long though we will have serious competition from him with clubs that are less tainted than ours. Could we secure him if Newcastle were also in for him? These days that could be a coin flip decision.

The only other higher profile sides that might make a change are Everton and West Ham. Even Levy is preferable to the dillldo merchants playing in a rented stadium with geriatric strikers. Everton with new owners and a new stadium - we are still more appealing currently, but that could change if we finish mid table.

See how we get on in the next 3, but if it goes tiiiits up against United and we’ve not beaten Rangers and Southampton then what’s the point of persisting with him - how will he actually make it better?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We'll always have London. That seems to be a pulling factor for players, so could be the same for managers. That could help in a choice between ourselves and Newcastle. We already won the Maddison race with them. Not sure with Newcastle anyway, they might want more than a sort of project manager with their ambitions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It only goes so far, Slot didn’t care about London, when our players went to United for years they didn’t care about London.

Wouldn’t be the first manager Newcastle have poached from Bournemouth either.

I find it odd that we’re sitting on our hands when there is an outstanding candidate that is gettable, can work with our limitations and has Prem experience. If we lose out to West Ham because we want to give a guy that will not alter the way we are playing, ever, it will be a watershed moment as they finish above us for as long as he is there.

3 more windows is nonsense either way
----------------------------------------------------------------------
United are one of the biggest clubs in the world and were successful around that time we were selling players to them. I think that's going to influence players more than being in London will. I'm talking when in competition with the other clubs who are a little more on our level.

Levy probably doesn't see it that way in regards to Iraola but I agree he is a good manager doing a good job. I think Levy is ultimately buying into the idea of seeing if giving a manager more time than he usually gives them will work, since his trigger happy approach hasn't in recent years. Hopefully this would change with a continuation of poor form over the next lot of games cause it's questionable Ange deserves much more time than that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I just can’t believe given all the managers he has had, Ange is the one that he is giving more time to?

Jose only needed an extra week

Poch - faaaack me, if anyone was deserving of more time

Redknapp - I know he had a pop at Levy at a difficult time, but we were a great watch under Harry and he delivered top 4 twice - perfect balance of good looking football and steel to us.

AVB - this guy got sacked with us sat 4th in the league having just achieved a record points total

Jol - he got sacked at faaacvking half time of a game we went on to win 6-0. This was after he guided us back to Europe for the first time in a decade.

But we’re givingge more time
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe because Ange is more of a project to try and transition to better football after the pragmatic type we've had under the past few managers. Jose and Conte were seen as short term 'win now' managers anyway and of course come with their outspokenness. Nobody liked their football and Levy must not have liked them having a go at him in public. We shouldn't have gone in that direction in the first place,

I can't argue with the others, I mean they all deserve more time compared to Ange, although AVB was 7th at the time of sacking. I guess this is simply a sudden realisation from Levy after years of failure that he should try allowing a struggling manager a bit more time? Perhaps how it went with Arteta has been an influence here also.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Would be typical Levy, finally develops a bit of patience just when we need his ruthlessness - he is always a day late and a dollar short.

He literally just needed to give Jose a week - just let the cup final play out. Who knows the trajectory if we won it - Spurs get that Monkey off their back, Kane and Son finally land a club trophy. Bale thinks faaaack it I will do another season. Instead we though Ryan Mason could do better

No guarantees this past it version of Jose would have won it but you know the cup final had to have played a part in Levy's decision to sack him. Whether it was something to do with compensation, or Levy knew winning the cup meant Jose would have had to be kept on, who knows?

Okay and if we’re lower than 5th at the end of the season and haven’t won a cup - is that not clear regression?

No point even arguing to be honest, if we’re lower than 5th and haven’t won a cup, it won’t matter what you or I think Luka, Levy will ditch him, it will be 1 window and Ange being catapulted out of it.

In fact I think the next 3 games will be all he gets if he doesn’t sort it out

It was either a contract extension or a bonus - either way it boiled down to money. It could trigger the extension and Levy could still sack him but the compensation would be higher.

And there is no guarantee we would have won it I agree, but we would have stood a far better chance with Jose rather than a wet behind the ears Mason.

It was over before it started in the league - 1 win against a shiete Everton in our opening 4 games.

The cups are an absolute illusion - even if we beat United, the semi finalists are likely to be Newcastle, Arsenal and Liverpool. The latter 2 wallop us. Newcastle, yeah we would have a chance, but it’s 2 legs and we often get walloped at SJP.

The Europa - look what happened when the quality stepped up with Galatasara and Roma, we couldn’t win. There are far bigger tests than those 2

Are best chance currently is the FA cup. We will beat Tamworth, despite the doom and gloom, we will. Then we just need huge levels of luck with the draw, all the top sides going out leaving us with a clear path - it’s not impossible at this point

Our best chance is the league cup cause of the stage we're at. United at home is winnable since they are also having a poor season, then I guess we need to hope one of the weaker teams prosper while we avoid Pool or Arsenal.

Yeah the warning signs came early in the league. I wanted Ange to get off to a good start and he needed to after the way last season ended. It's been an inconsistent mess throughout. With each big win you kind of think, well maybe it will start clicking from this point and instead we're met with a crushing loss. Too many now in fact for a hope of a revival.

He'll need a good next couple of weeks but honestly, if he isn't good enough to get positive results from these next games, he isn't likely to ever get us back, if we didn't know that already. He isn't just in last chance saloon anymore, he's been picked up ready to be thrown out of it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

You can almost guarantee if we do get past United then we will draw Liverpool in the next round. Brentford will pull off a shock at Newcastle and Arsenal will draw them - it’s just the way it is. I’ve already given up on the League cup.

The FA cup - there is still a very small chance we get dream draws the whole way through

Is the season over? I think not. 3 more windows. Ange In.

It is in terms of the league. All about cups now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was over before it started in the league - 1 win against a shiete Everton in our opening 4 games.

If we have to beat another big team to win the League Cup then so be it. It's not supposed to be easy and it would be more rewarding to say we did it the hard way. It would be perhaps worse for Ange however if we get a big team, do well in the game, but his tactics ultimately cost us the win.

In fact I think the next 3 games will be all he gets if he doesn’t sort it out
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we do regress I don't mind taking one step back to take two steps forwards the following year but an awful lot will need to happen.

We'll just ignore the injuries and schedule then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What injuries did we have on Sunday from our starting line up bar Vic?

That’s was our strongest 11 bar Vic and at a push Bentancur.

Of course we’re the only side in the league that get injuries.

The other issues with Ange and injuries are:

We heard “wait until we get our players back” last year - nothing improved when they were back

Secondly, we will always have a high amount of injury’s because of the way he has us playing and training
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did you watch Sunday's game? Again ignoring all the facts. Romero and Micky were both half fit. No GK. None of the players are 100% fit due to the schedule.

Crazy how you keep ignoring all the facts and context to shoehorn your agenda against the gaffer.

Yes an upwards trajectory would be ideal but we have to take into account, that might not happen this season. This is Tottenham after all.

We all know Romero has spoken out because he is leaving for Madrid.

Touch of the Sol Campbells about him going off injured personally.
