It's a mess. We tried something different given our limited resources and Ange was pragmatic, something people have been crying out for. It didn't work.
Over the season Ange had a lot to prove. The first half of the season we were a bit up and down and he had to address issues for us to see clear progress (although we were still well placed). Since the injuries piled up ive have actually felt sorry for the players as they have had to be run into the ground...and when someone like Solanke gets injured, late in the week, you know what a mental blow that will be to the team we had to change up the system, it failed. Haven't watch the game in full as was watching my sons play but the write ups seem pretty damning. Ange hasn't proven that he has what it takes to address the issues we had before all the injuries. I cut him some slack because he's not going to be able to prove that with 10 players out. I think yesterday we set up to stay in the game until may the last30m when we could bring on Richy and be more balanced.
BTW I'm not arguing, I just think the 2 issues are completely unrelated and if you want our commercial operations to cease trying to make money then fine. I do not see it as a stick to beat our club with. It's the thing we excel at and the football side should try and emulate it.
But have nothing to say about losing 24 of their last 50 games
Anyone would think they don't care about the football
Maybe I'm wrong ?

Think you are to be honest. Not something really to gloat about is it?
I hear ya, I was being a bit "tongue in cheek" but It does grate some of us, especially given the cost of a bloody season ticket (which I never get to use... Thats my own fault)
What is bothering me (Other than the results/ way we play) is that just because there isn't an obvious candidate or a replacement likely to fix this mess, doesn't by default justify keeping Ange in his job.
Its like the old saying about "Insanity"... Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. I would be utterly demoralized if I was playing for Spurs and just looking at Ange's Body language would do NOTHING to inspire me. He looks and talks like a man out of his depth and his players are a reflection of him.
I honestly would rather have Ryan Mason coach this team from now till the end of the season.... I honestly think we would win more than we lose or at worse, stay in games and give ourselves a chance. I would like a different approach in the way we train and see if it has some impact on the state of our injuries. It's not the perfect solution (far from it) but we need to accept Ange has been a disaster and move on ASAP
Just my opinion

I would agree if we hadnt been suffering the way we have with injuries.
May be in the next 2 weeks we can have a base of Romero & VDV and Bentancur in front of them. That is a world apart from relying on 2 18 year old rookies to play through the core of the team, one playing out of position and the other in a key CM role. with a rookie keeper behind them.
Even if we got our first choice Ange replacement in today, there is not a lot they can do when choosing from those limited options...not to mention the fact they're knackered.
When we are able to start with VDV and Romero, with Bents ahead of them, i will expect an awful lot more from the team. I will expect far more solidity, much better play from the back and geneal control of games. This will also rely on having Richarlison available to keep us balanced now Solanke is out

Maybe..... I don't think there's been enough wins under Ange's tenure to justify such optimism.
I think the way we play and train is the root cause of our problems and thats on Ange.
Bournemouth won 4-1 at Newcastle on Sat missing their best 2 forwards through injuring and 6 of their subs had a combined 7 mins of prem league football between them. This is all managed by a guy nobody had heard of 18 months ago and now has them 7th in the league playing great/ intelligent football.
I wonder when enough is going to be enough - if we lose the 2 games this week then we more or less condemn ourselves to playing the first knockout round in Europe and we’re in a relegation battle - are we going to stick with him past that?
Yeah the injuries are horrendous - but we can’t keep losing, he has to adapt and find ways to get results, that’s the job. The bottom line is he isn’t doing that.
You look at these next 3 games - Hoffenheim away, Leicester and Elfsborg at home - it should be a draw and a couple of wins. If he can’t do that then the only result I will back us to get between now and the end of the season is a home win over Southampton

The pitchforks are really out for Ange!
Bringing up an interview nearly twenty years ago at the start of his managerial career when he was Australia's U20 coach.
You know he has since managed the full Australia team and won them the Asian cup.
By the way Australia had never won it before and have never won it since.
On a side note Andoni Iraola started his managerial career as AEK Larnaca coach and he started in June and was sacked in January after nearly two months without winning a single match.

You say insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome but can you not see that if we sack the manager we are doing exactly that!
Why can't we just be brave and stick with the manager for once.
The board needs to back him and Ange has been asking for help with new recruits and all we have is a keeper in this window so far.
The form is down to injuries, Before the injuries we were 3 points off the top four and our performances were on the whole decent, we just were not getting the results.
We are losing games, as we get Ben Davies back but then we lose Biss, Johnson and Solanke. Ange says he has never known an injury crisis like this in all his years as a coach.
At the moment we are like a 3 legged blind horse in a race, doesn't matter how good the jockey is. Then when we lose its like ah lets get rid of the manager he is out of his depth, I just don't get it.
This dog tuuurd of a club can’t even get some players in when there’s an injury’s crisis and in a potential relegation battle

I'm not saying he is rubbish, the article is about an interview Ange did at the start of his managerial career to highlight how of depth he is.
I am comparing it to the start of everyone's new saviour, Iraola's managerial career.

Come back to me when Bournemouth have had 8-12 injuries for about 2 months.
But the fact is we have been bare bones for a while and it is taking its toll on those who are fit.
I am not saying that is the only problem, but it is certainly our biggest one! The test will be the form when players start to return. It simply has to turn around for the sake of everyone, not least Ange's future.
Interesting that those defending Ange are quite often those that defend levy.
Also, no one expects the club to stop commercial activity . To suggest so is both facetious and ignorant. But I don’t think it’s unreasonable for a fanbase who continually pay the highest ticket prices in the world to criticise a board that isn’t backing a manager who is publicly asking for help.
It’s the 20th of January. We’ve signed a back up keeper. That’s it. During the biggest injury crisis in living memory.
If they could just concentrate on the football a bit, people would swallow the adverts.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Diamond, what exactly has Mason ever done to make youbthink he is going to change anything with lots of key players missing?

Yeah of course they will and have done with all the other managers giving them the right tools for the job.
Stupid.
