No.
I'm away on holiday, it kicked off at 3am local time so I didn't bother with it. Checked the final score, misread the headline on Skysports and cheered, then reread it and saw we got battered
“I can’t remember a team in my lifetime going down with less of a fight than today”
Jamie Redknapp.
Villa in the FA Cup next
Think you will win that one
I always remember what Ferguson apparently said at half time during the 99 CL final.
-----
Sheringham is the one quoting it here:
"He said look, you've seen that trophy out there on the halfway line. If you don't win this we won't, we won't be able to touch it.
"You might not ever get this close again. So make sure you give everything in your power an individual performance and as a team performance to make sure that you know, try and win this game. Don't leave anything out there.
"No ifs and buts when you come off the pitch and just make sure you give everything."
-----
The last bit is what sticks in my mind in these situations and applies whether it's a final, semi final or whatever is important to your club. In this case Spurs lifting a league cup this season would've been a massive boost to a struggling side.
"No ifs and buts when you come off the pitch and just make sure you give everything."
I don't think it always matters when you lose (one side may just be better) but it does matter how you lose.
This was a poor performance, no dressing it up. But if you don't see having a dozen players missing, including probably seven starters had a major say in the result, then football isn't for you.

Stop blaming the injuries and stop replying to your own posts, it’s absurd.
Injuries are partly to blame, ange is partly to blame but the ownership take full responsibility for the sheit show this club is.
Just muddle through till the summer end see what good managers are about and see stupid enough to come. Let’s be honest last time we was getting rejected and that is why Ange is here.

Liverpool are the best and most consistent team in the division. They are difficult to play against especially at Anfield. It wasn’t a good performance, but looking at the Spurs line up it would have taken something extraordinary to get a result. Truth is you did well to keep the tie alive to the second leg.

When did they keep the tie alive, I must have blinked and missed it?
Not sure why my name gets a mention, I’ve not really defended Levy too much.
I do defend Ange, however that performance was shocking and disappointing.
But this is a rebuild and we move on. We are still in a situation where we don’t have the players back and are playing every few days, not excuses just facts and we will be in the same situation this weekend so strap yourself in.
Richy is now injured and we have a 19 year old back up with lots of potential but is new to the league.
Danso has replaced Radu who got injured so the squad hasn’t really changed, the same players pretty much are running on fumes and then expected to go to Anfield against the form team and get a result.
The pundits just use hyperbole to stay relevant, they watch the game in isolation and take no time to think why they saw that performance.
I know about ten spurs fans, three in my own family.
They all hate levy and Enic.
I go on forums everywhere. I’ve argued for years about how Enic and levy were destroying the football club.
I’ve seen many minions change colours or disappear
Devon and the like are the only ones left that I know of. FAC K THEM.
I have no time for their excuses anymore. None. Zero. Zip.
Their champions are hurting our club. Get them all out.

Oh Ok so don't blame the 12 players missing. What would have been your starting XI last night?
Obvious injuries are a key factor. Liverpool themselves had several of their better players missing last week in the CL, and guess what they lost. It's not exactly rocket science. Unless you think a reserve team with 3 or 4 first team players should have gone to Anfield and won.

It’s not about the players being sent out it’s about:
1. How motivated the side are - last night there was faaack all
2. The shape of the side - far too attacking, no balance whatsoever
3. Tactics - I honestly see none at times, there are passing patterns but that seems to be it
4. Signs of learning and improvement - at Brentford there were some signs, but last night was 1 step forwards and 2 backwards
The manager is just too limited to be able to cope with a squad with this many injuries.
We essentially had a second choice back 5 and striker, and arguably missing our first choice creative midfielder and right winger. Playing away against the best team in Europe was always going to be a losing battle.
I'm not all that disappointed. Fully expected a comfortable loss and that's what we got. Well probably be out of the FA cup in a weeks time too so then it's just focussing on Europa (always has been our best shot at a trophy) and trying to finish top half of the league.
Then hopefully we're a relatively appealing option to a better manager in the summer.
Levy and ENIC are the fundamental problem with the club but my word is Ange out of his depth.
Last night he tried parking the bus but with no idea how to do it or offer anything on the counter.
As for the injuries, seems its just a permanent crisis under him as players break down as soon as they come back.
I'm sure if Levy stumped up for Slot 18 months ago we'd be in a far better situation. There's a lot of talent in the squad but it's dreadfullly mismanaged.
