I was just thinking the same thing watching their match. Worried they're going to seek a new manager come the summer and Iraola isn't exactly under the radar anymore.

Realistically he may not have come to us anyway mid-season, but it would honestly feel like a major fack up that we didn't try while experiencing some of the worst form in a generation under this hopeless manager and Chelsea instead take him next season.

Well I’m certainly not upset about that. I just don’t want to miss out on the most obvious managerial appointment for Spurs ever because we waited until Ange had us knocked out of Europe and in the meantime Chelsea snuck in.

Chelsea’s problem is very obvious, they’ve bought a schitt tonne of mostly schitt and hired a bloke that Leicester fans were iffy about in the Championship to manage them.

I said it earlier in the week, Todd B is my favourite ever chairman and is doing the lords work

As much as I’d love him to come, I just can’t see it. Levy will feck it up and I’m sure Iraola has his sights on bigger clubs than us that actually give their managers money to spend. Proper money, proper wages.

Chelsea are in free fall but they are still in the European places. They also have a history of winning trophies, backing managers and paying decent wages. However much I despise them, do you honestly think if us or them were in the race for a player or manager they would chose us?

That is why we need change at Tottenham.

That’s why I wanted us to act much sooner. If Chelsea haven’t acted yet then let’s get our foot in the door and secure this guy now

It’s worth also having a laugh at just how bad Cucurella is - the left sided Pedro Porro, can’t defend to save his life.

But he has been given money to spend. £400m in 4 windows. I know people hate Levy but he's backed Ange. He's been the best backed manager in Spurs PL history and he's performed like the worst Spurs manager in PL history.

Imagine being Levy at the end of this weekend and seeing Forest 3rd, Bournemouth 5th and Spurs in the bottom 6 - and then Ange comes in and mumbles to his shoes about injuries mate.

I can’t believe he will stand for it

He's massively underperformed, that's not in doubt but I can't help think Ange has been sold down the river. He didn't get the players he really wanted and a lot of money has been spent on players for the future with the priorities being resale value and willingness to accept lower wages.

Yes the recruitment hasn't been perfect, with an over reliance on youth, and some areas on the pitch left ignored, but generally he's been well supported and I think the recruitment has been ok. He's had players he wanted like BJ and Solanke, and we paid over £100m to acquire them. As far as other targets, well no manager is going to get everyone they want, especially as some targets are more unrealistic than others.

I'm not even just talking about financial backing either. We've been very patient with him during poor form that has dated back to last season. Other previous managers got hooked at the first sign of trouble.

I disagree with this.

Ange wanted Neto, Gallagher, Ramsey, Eze

He got Gray, Bergvall, Odebert

We don’t pay the wages to get the ready players.

Yes we spend on transfers. But we never pay for the players we need. How many millions have we spent trying to replace Walker before we found Porro?

It’s a false economy. We only have four players earning over £100 grand a week. West Ham have nine ffs.

You get what you pay for.

Last summer could have easily been better but not sure how realistic some of those players were. How much would Eze have cost for example? Would he have been worth it given how he's been this season? Gray already seems like a good signing and I think we'll be very glad we made that signing in a few years time.

I mean I believe the crux of the problems at the moment are the manager and the injuries, which may themselves be linked, and it's making our squad/recruitment look weaker than it is.

Eze was available for 60 million release clause. Not knocking gray, just needed him and a ready to go number 6. Not just him.
