I didn't realise Varane retired from football completely. Just 31.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And he's wandering why he wasn't getting played by the manager. The guy broke down after 20mins of his first match of Como and retired .
Just glad he made it through the cup final...
This is just one personal/subjective view of ETH approach. For almost every manager there will be winners and losers. Many players left thank you messages to ETH after his sacking. If they felt the same way, they wouldn't have. Their perspective would have been totally different. Obviously, many others didn't. It's just the way it is.

He did that with at least one important player on the team. He was always in conflict with certain leaders of the group. That is his way of managing.”
And it is for this precise reason I could never support this bald idiot over Ronaldo. But hey, the JA606 know more than Varane. Another serial winner that just happened to question this idiots man management skills.

I don't remember you posting that when ETH arrived
Leaving thank you messages on social media that were probably written by player’s PR team has absolutely no bearing on whether they got on with EtH or not. Social media is about giving off a persona that isn’t necessarily who you really are, this is especially true for celebrities.
EtH always came across as quite a cold awkward person, I can imagine it’s likely a lot of players didn’t really connect with him.
Being autocratic very rarely works in football management. Ask Souness and Keano.
