Gordon Lightfoot, great Canadian lyricist

You beat me to it.

I know plenty of people who rate Aphex Twin as their favourite musical artist. It's really not that odd a view, he's arguably the most important musicians in electronic music over the past 30 years.
Just because you personally don't know anyone who does doesn't mean people don't. I don't personally know anyone who likes Mrs Brown's Boy but I'm fully aware there are many people who do.
Never take part in these because as others have said just taste, childhood era, memories, nothing I the last 20years etc.
Why don’t the op just ask a AI engine. If they don’t like the answer ask another one?

No, but it does demonstrably mean that he’s not everyone’s favourite musician.

I’m convinced that there are a great many people who lie to themselves about really liking The Beatles, let alone the solo stuff.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Beatles are the best at what they did and always will be. Hard to put them in a box because they covered practically every modern music genre other than House or reggae
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It just doesn’t move me, at all.
There are a lot of people who like Coldplay and Snow Patrol too, which is something I just don’t get, although I think they probably cry after cex.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tbf if you’re not used to it up the chutney jar…
Tbf you write ‘a lot’ on checking, apologies.
Much like Opera, I can see why it’s good, but I simply don’t enjoy it.

Can be answered differently every time it's asked.
But definitively its
The Beatles
Rolling Stones
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
Oasis
5 is actually too limiting
Way too many good bands
I had to leave the Beatles off mine ffs
Also i personally prefer the Rolling Stones and they didnt make it on there either
People talking down the Beatles is no surprise on here
I think at the least its hard to deny the obvious genius of Abbey Road
Some of their other albums are a touch overrated at times
Beatles
Rolling Stones
The Smiths
The Kinks
Led Zepellin
none of these would be in any intelligent person's top 5

'Beatles arent that good' is the online music equivalent of Godwin's Law
My favourites, the Manics, have a song on their new album that should be United's walk out music - Decline and Fall.

US solos
Stevie Wonder
Neil Young (he's American enough by now)
MJ
Prince
...will think a bit about the fourth spot
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's pretty offensive. 😄 Neil Young is as Canadian as it gets.
Canada's top five
Neil Young
Guess who
Steppenwolf
Lenord cohen
The Band
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Neil Young has US citizenship and has mainly lived in the States for the last 60 years. And he's an active part of the American discourse and has been a key player in the American music scene since the late 60s.

I approve of scousers being compared to naaazis.
Neil Young has announced his plans to play a free concert in Ukraine to kick off the forthcoming European leg of his Love Earth tour.
The musician announced the news on his website, confirming that he and his band, the Chrome Hearts, will be performing a special free concert “for all”, with additional details regarding dates and venue expected in the coming days.
