I was not excited nor upset at Anges Appointment.

I have a friend that worked with him at Celtic who would message me every week about him non stop.

The first loss against Chelsea i thought it was interesting and intriguing.

The loss to Wolves that followed i was thinking this is weird like there is no tactical idea here. I see it again in the west ham and especially the brighton loss.

Then the awful football in the fa cup it was between Wolves again where the worlds most famour tactician Gary O'Neill went on live tv and showed how he beat us and then did it again embarrasing and the Fulham 3-0 i was screaming for Anges head actively wanting him sacked.

The loss to Arsenal then the rolling over to an injury struck Chelsea he had to go there and then.

Finally the post season newcastle game where we was playing a team that did not want to be there who got beat 11-0 or whatever it was a few days later we to lost on penalties. In that game my trademark 3 passes and your in against Angeball was really apparent.

I knew there was no hope even if we signed Ronaldo, Messi and Kane.

Always been very vocal we have a league one manager in charge genuienly Nathan Jones level who i liken Ange to.

I never turn on a manager because every one of them is hamstrung working under Levy, but the sad truth of the matter is, Ange is only Spurs manager because he is Munn`s countryman, was cheap to acquire and no other top manager would touch us with a barge pole thanks to Levy`s previous.

I like Ange and hope he turns it around, but it`s not looking too good at the moment.

Bill, Ange was 20/1 for the job. Two days after Munn offically joined Ange joined there is no doubt it was Munn and is now Munn keeping him in the job.

We weren’t in the bottom half of the table though.

Spurs were 5th last season with Ange in charge. You were bashing him then as well.

Back to the article, there were maybe a few if that who didn't like the appointment but for those with short memories, it took us a few months to find anyone who would manage us.

I suspect alot of candidates wanted to know the future of Kane before deciding to agree and that must have put alot of managers off.

Depsite his tactics or lack of, I still think the club will.be better off after he leaves.

We have had a massage change in personal since he arrived including a few new youngesters.

All the deadwood have gone except for Reg, Forster and the newly aquired Werner.

The new deadwood is the likes of Richy, Davies(based on age and injuries but a good servant), Biss, Bents(maybe) and BJ who will stink the place out for another season or two I suspect, because his fee will be too high.

I totally agree with this.

The reason i don't get totally hung up on individuals, to the point of hating them if we don't succeed (except Conte who i thought totally disrespected everyone at the club) is because i see many players and managers as serving a purpose, and sometimes that purpose has a limited ceiling, and this is something you learn in time but don't necessarily know before hand.

Taking Spurs, who were in a mess, with an aging squad full of deadwood, playing ineffective negative football, with a DoF banned from football and Levy pretty much running the whole show, is a set of circumstances that does not scream "the next manager is going to be the one to take us to the top". The next step as a club was not the top, it was rebuilding and having us challenging for European places.

For me the next manager had to at least move us on from where we were. He may prove to be the messiah but if he didnt then no big deal and we move on. Poch is a classic who probably outperformed where we expected to be, he got close to being the Messiah but was appointed with that expectation.

What Ange has achieved is over seeing a complete change in our style, from a team with a defend first mindset to one who are far more attacking and brave. Now he hasnt been able to make that work this season and most are coming to the conclusion that he will not be able to....he's probably reached his ceiling, so we move on.

But, we are in a much better position as a club now than 2 years ago and the squad is very exciting and they have a far more modern style that any decent modern manager can pick up and adapt without it requiring us to go back to the drawing board.

It's the same with players. Some are good enough to get you challenging for top 4 and getting top 4 but when you need to make that next step, they fall short....ceiling reached, so you move on.

That's how i see it. I don't hate a manager or a player because they've reached their ceiling, you just move on and hope the replacement is good enough to take the next step.

I wouldn’t say anyone here “hates” Postecoglou. How can they, none of us know him personally and this is just football. Do we dislike how he has the team playing? Yes.

he's been called plenty on here. But its the usual social media fare, people happy to say things, often for effect, that they'd never say to their face.

This is rare, an articulate and well argued comment from you rather than just winding people up. I agree with a lot of this. Ange isn't a toxic manager like Mourinho or Conte where they tend to be successful but then leave the club in total disarray. For all his faults, the squad has improved overall under Ange. How much credit Ange gets for that is another matter. But when we next stumble upon a great manager, or even a half decent manager, I think the future is bright. I disagree about BJ though. His goals and assists record is excellent. A Man Utd fan recently pointed out how they'd kill for a player who regularly gets tap ins. Anyone who has played the game at any level would recognise that consistently being in the right place at the right time to score tap ins is not about luck. Especially against Premier League defenders.

BJ could and should be coached into much better movement. The guy has pace but never really uses it. He makes use of it on the counter but in general build up play he offers little. But better movement could see him being far more rounded as a wide attacker and if he added that variation to his game, he'd be a very decent performer. Sure he wont dribble past players that often but he can , through better movement, work space for himself to run into.

I like how he is used and his output is great, and its very much an Ange way of scoring, but he needs to be coached into creating better output vs a packed deep defence.
