England Squad

Mainoo and Hall are out injured and Wharton has struggled with injuries all season.

Would say Quansah is a stranger pick than Colwill. Him and Burn cover LB and CB too.

Thought he would retire Walker off though.

Missing is fair enough, not a lot of value added in that lot.

I believe Marino and Hall are injured and out for the season, though with the rationale Tuchel is using, I’m surprised that stopped him.
Does that look like the basis of a squad that can win the WC in 2026, doubtful imo.

Surprised he has gone for Solanke ahead of Shearer, with the make up of that squad Shearer would have fitted in perfectly.

does feel a lack of defensive midfielders. Henderson clear shocking inclusion, Spence probably deserved a call up especially with Trent injured, is James even having a good season, Walker probably getting past it and MLS only left back ?

Wharton isnt having a great season at Palace right but something different to the others in midfield. No real problems with the others left out.

BIG DAN BURN!

Reece James is a waste of time, he will be injured for the finals, he always is.

Walker and Henderson are bizarre choices

forget big DB plays left back a lot

No one mentioning Gallagher missing out?

He is playing for a better team than any PL player.

That’s got to be the worst squad for defensive options in a generation

Has he just stuck Henderson and Walker in as experienced players for the squad as he barely knows the players yet? Sort of getting a few captain types in there to help him?

I forgot to add Watkins to the MIA list.

As someone above said, this doesnt really look like a squad that is building for the future.

Still not looking at life after Kane. Solanke is a decent striker but he's not at the same level. What about Delap

Dan Burn, 32. Really. We not prepared to start looking and the generation below him? Walker 34. Is he gonna be at his peak in 2026? Henderson. He's not good enough whatever his age!

It's a mess of a squad IMO

No Gallagher is an odd one given he played under Tuchel at Chelsea regularly and has been doing very well at Atletico.

If ya going in form and how they play for England Foden wouldn’t make a reserve squad

Forgot about Gallagher and Watkins

You’d have them over Henderson and Solanke(just returned from injury)

Is he preparing for our WC attempt or just helping Germany ??

A load of rubbish. Southgate would have been crucified for picking that sort of squad.

Never wanted him as manager. Doubt I will ever take to him managing England, it just feels wrong.

It feels like he’s picked on personality rather than performance.

How the AF is Hendo in? Is he going to play next year? Is Walker?

Not sure how James has got in.

I’d certainly have Watkins, Branthwaite, Spence and MGW in myself.

Rashford shouldn't really be in either. A couple of weeks of good form after over a year of being poor?

Reading his comments just now on the BBC and either he's lying or yes he does actually believe they can make the WC squad.

"Everyone who is with us on this journey and in this first camp is a contender for the World Cup. Every player is part of this first step. At the same time, it's only the first step so the nomination is not the nomination for America. "

"I truly believe that these two things have to be combined. I truly believe Dan Burn and Jordan Henderson have every chance to be with us in the World Cup."

I love Hendo, absolutely love the man, but that’s just silly imo.

He’s not even a nailed on starter for Ajax

Tuchel didn’t rate him, he barely played under him. He only started playing regularly after he was sacked.

Its got to be a bit of a kick in the nads for someone like Will Hughes who's having a great season not to get in.
