We are currently in 13th position? If they are not duds what are they? If Rasmus numbers are not that of a dud, then what is?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rasmus is viewed as a dud because he cost +£70m and his numbers are not great. He's been expected to carry the burden of Utd scoring aged 19 after an OK break out season.
If he had cost half of that and was second fiddle to a regular goal scorer he probably would have developed a lot better, if managed well. He hasn't been managed well, he cant be because you have to rely on him.
Sometimes the circumstances make a player a dud rather than them actually being no good.
Yoro looks okay, Heaven looks better
------------------------------------------------------------
I'd be hesitant to make any kind of judgement about Heaven. I love how he's played so far, and I'm encouraged that he has earned Amorim's faith to be chosen ahead of a more experienced player in a crunch match. But it's such a small sample we've had that it's impossible to form any meaningful opinion about strengths and weaknesses in his game. He has made some little mistakes, and because they haven't been punished, they haven't been underlined by anyone. Give him 20 matches with the same performance levels and people will latch on to the imperfections in his game that quite naturally exist. I guess my point is that the composure on and off the ball we see from Yoro is more of an established fact than what we've seen from Heaven, simply because we have a much larger evidential basis.
I could be wrong, but it looks to me that Yoro is a bit quicker than Heaven. Again, time will tell on that question, but that will be another significant factor in the role they play in the team.
Anyway, I'm very glad we have both of them. Hopefully we don't have too long to wait before Heaven is back to give us more evidence of his talent to judge.

It's "shoo-in" by the way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
never knew that, thanks
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know this because my old man was a disciplinarian and I would been a shoo-in for a shoe-in, if i had spelt shoo-in shoe-in.
I don't dislike Yoro RR, if it came across that way. Heaven just looks a little braver in possession, and physically stronger.
I'm saying Yoro isn't currently good enough to be starting to a title challenging team, which I think is fair, what 18 year old defender is?

Fair enough. As I said, I'm not sure 'ready to start for a title challenging team' is the primary criterion our recruitment department or fans should apply to potential transfers. The cost of such players means we're not going to make many changes to our squad under current constraints. As for the comparison with Yoro, maybe I wouldn't have objected had you added 'on first impressions' as a caveat.
Goal return of our attacking signings:
Hojlund - 24 goals in 82 games
Zirkzee - 6 goals in 44 games
Mount - 1 goal in 33 games
Antony - 12 goals in 96 games
Eriksen - 7 in 99 games
It's no wonder we've slipped from CL contention, to 8th place and now to 13th. You can't get anywhere in this league if you can't score goals and we've signed a group of players who are simply not up to the task.

His signings in attack haven't been great at all. If you spend that amount of money you should have at least one top player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s 2025, and grown adults with fully formed cerebra and even a particular interest in the sport still believe that football managers are responsible for the fees that clubs negotiate for players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They're obviously aware of the budget they have. If you spend £500m, you'd expect at least one top player.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hojlund has just turned 22, he's at a club in difficult circumstances and he shouldn't be leading the line for a club of our stature.
He's suffering a confidence crisis, but he's showing enough to suggest he could become a decent player, in my opinion. It isn't his fault the club put him in this position, and paid so much for him. I doubt he will be the 20+ goal a season player we need, but he could be a decent player for us.
The real issue is we seem to have a squad of players who fit into this category, and we need some players to step up today, not in 3 or 4 years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
His numbers are that of a dud. Simple.
Make no mistake, this team requires a complete overhaul.
Jim the Rat knows this. The manager is aware of this.
I am not entirely sure what we are talking about here.
De Ligt and Maz only two player i see with any change of getting into Liverpool, Arsenal or City side. If our aim is not to be back challenging with these guys, then yes, the above players are Manchester United Standard.
I'm not really bothered about who from our squad would go into a top four team, they may have different requirements in that position.
None of our players may get in the City team but it's not that long ago we beat them, fairly, in an FA Cup final by playing as a team.

If that is your rebuttal with regards to status of our team, then I have nothing further to add.
We beat city but finished outside the top 4 last year. May finish outside of top 10 this year. But hey, we beat city in a final.
It’s because of all those signings we’re so shiiiiiit.

The only ones who can really stand up are funnily enough the ones that had an actual DOF and scouting group that were involved in buying him sheite. One player he didn't want was Ugarte, it was obvious in his attitude to him from the start. Yoro too was obviously not a dining he would prefer.
That being said, if he's to get credit for the signings under ineos we should know that it's not yet been decided. Our best players are still signing s before him (Bruno, Amad and Garnacho) . Add Dalot and we will be a relagation team if it where only his signings.
