'A total disgrace'

It's a joke really.

In 2023/24 season we made £107m from total gate receipts (which included 3 CL home games)

A 5% overall increase is barely going to touch the sides compared to the huge TV deal and sponsorship deals we get and it's even smaller when you narrow that down to the pension age fans such as my Dad.

We are sadly now paying for the sins of the Glazers and Woodward.

Are you saying the Glazers should have increased the season ticket prices over the years instead of freezing them?

How else are these smart Alecs going to be able to afford a new ground !

Unfortunately they will sell and anybody not renewing in protest will have theirs snapped up. Personally, I'd be more than happy to pay the price + 5%, it may seem outrageous to people who have had season tickets for years but when you've spent years trying and failing, you have a different perspective.

Even if every current season ticket holder refuses to renew in protest, they will 100% sell out and there will still be a ridiculous wait list.

I do think that a rise is justified, but not that much.
It would be better if they gave the discount to fans who can show more than 50 years supporting.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

No I'm saying the opposite if anything. It's barely going to make a difference to the debt and financial health of the club. It's little pieces from everything being pieces together to try and turn around 20 years of bleeding us dry.

Football is a business. We shouldn't be having any sort of set or fixed prices for anyone. Open up all tickets to the public and let the market decide on the price. We could get £200 per ticket for every seat. People could come over from China for the day and make us a fortune. Modern football is about making money. We are not a communist club.

Read the BBC article Forza in the second half of it. It gives some examples of how older fans ticket prices are rising by huge and unafordable amounts. And to that extent they (1958) are dead right.... It is a total disgrace.

Absolutely zero loyalty and a kick in the nuts from the club to it's best customers.

posted on 19/3/25

The 5% rise over the last three years is fine given there were previously 11 consecutive years of price freezes. But seniors have seen their discount cut to 25% and some are facing a price rise of up to 75%. That’s out of order and makes it seem like they’re trying to price out the loyal older fans to make way for new, cashed up fans.

In fairness, 50% discount for oldies must have been one of the most generous in the Prem.

Probably, yes it was a bit. But to take it away is cruel to those who cant afford it at the new prices. Loyalty has got to count somewhere in an 'unwritten contract' between a football club and its most timeserved and loyal customers (which is propably the new 'blue sky thinking' word that this new Man United will be calling their supporters from now on).

Im going to be glad to get out of that nonsense soon.

If I am honest, I was expecting more than a 5% rise in prices, however the rule that you have to attend 19 matches is ridiculous, and that you get fined for selling selling within 2 weeks of a game too.

They have to understand life gets in the way sometimes, we don't know the fixture list, or time/ date of KO until a week or two before a game at times. If you can't make a game due to work, family or god forbit health commitments, why should we be penalised as fans?

*fortunately for me and my father, the price hikes for concessions don't affect us. I know somebody who sits behind me who will not renew because of this

No VC, you know he isn't saying that.

The clubs financial state is not due to fans not paying enough in ticket prices. You also know this.

Some really eye catching numbers on this.

1. Bayern / Dortmund disparity is crazy. They have very similar average attendances so Bayern must be charging their fans a lot more than Dortmund are.

2. Spurs just below us in this list but apparently are set to move ahead of us in this season's figures.

3. Real Madrid are making an eye watering amount of money from match day tickets and these figures are before the new stadium stats are included. I imagine it will be even higher soon.

4. City getting 'just' £74m but recently claiming to have the largest revenue in world football is quite honestly hilarious. Is it any wonder nobody believes a word they say?

5. PSG tickets must be insanely expensive. Jobs in Paris, a bit like London, do pay exceptionally well though.
