My point was that our 50 plus goal difference would have been off the scale if Pablo or the like had been feeding Joel etc. , plus maybe the 2-2s like at the weekend would have been 3-2 or 4-2. Yes I know it's wishful thinking.

This is what I've been saying all year. Leeds play this way but are hampered by an uncreative player in the position.
Everyone quick to add up all the points lost because of mes but we don't do ourselves any favors by missing so many chances at the other end or not even creating them.
That's on Farke. Both ends are on him.
He's burnt out the team two years running.
I was a big fan of mes but this is a mental not physical problem.

We don’t miss any more chances than the next team mont, every fan remembers their own team’s misses. The reason we don’t always score as many as our possession/dominance suggests we might is because all sides find it hard to break down packed defences… hell even Pablo struggled sometimes.

We’ve actually scored more than our xg.

At the other end we’ve conceded close to expected. Unfortunately, Burnley and Sheffield united both have xg against that’s much worse than ours - but have keepers that are better… and they’ve had more luck too.

Nothing more to it than than that

Glad to see the penny finally seems to be dropping with many that Meslier, in the real world, must be dropped.

Unfortunately Farke won't. Which is going to cost him his job.

Got to admit i've never been a huge Meslier fan. His mistakes are far from a new phenomenon. I remember in our first season back in the Premiership, away at Arsenal. We were 3-0 down at half-time down to 3 of his blunders. Nothing was said at the time, i think everyone was just satisfied with where the club was at the time.

Unfortunately i fear this season we are doomed to failure largely because of his schoolboy errors & Farke's sheer stubbornness.

Yep...Meslier is certainly unrivalled unfortunately on the gk howlers department and Ive read quite a few on social media suggest he's taken a bung or two or three or four to deliberately do it but I think that is a bit too far fetched and all those dropped points are incredible and must be some type of footballing record for one individual's mistakes being so costly.

hope to God we still get promoted for his sake as if we dont he's going to be forever castigated, haunted and sadly probably threatened by those that saw fit to issue death threats against Bamford.

If we go up, Meslier can at least have a less awkward more forgiving exit and be able to return as a guest in the future which after this season Id wager he will take his unique style of goal keeping abilities to a new club for their supporters to experience.

Anyone who suggests he may have taken a bung is hitting way below the belt – seeing how gutted Mes has been at some of his own howlers has been a tough watch and I've actually felt sorry for the lad. But that's where my sympathy ends. Despite his early promise, he just hasn't stepped up for us - in many respects he's actually gone backwards. He still doesn't command his area, his distribution is still poor, his handling (need I say this) is flaky, as is his chemistry with his defenders.
Darlow can literally be no worse than this - if Farke persists with him, when it's clear to all that he is a liability, he himself deserves no respect from the fans. It wouldn't endear him to the dressing room either. On several occasions, players have expressed their exasperation directly to Meslier – for Farke to lumber them with our 2nd best goalie for the sake of personal pride and stubbornness (can't think of any other motive) would be showing lack of leadership. I think, as surely we all do, that next weekend's line-up (and result) will be the biggest determiner of our fate.

With 7 games there's still time for another couple of shockers. Having said that, they're not really that shocking any more.

I agree most fans see their own team's misses more but what I would like to see is what a player like Pablo could do against a packed defence while we're leading a game.
So often we seem to go into a shell trying to protect the lead. Sometimes our counters work but that's because of the strengths of our wingers.
All I wanted all year was a little variety in the middle but Farke has played the same guy every game.

With you on that mont. Personally I think people underestimate what Aaronson brings to the team, I thought he was one of our better players relatively (bar pretty low) on Saturday.

But in general playing against packed defenses needs some guile and Aaronson is more energy than lock picker. Think Farke has said the same in the past and he’s chased Buendia and hamer for that reason.

Thank you Milky - that was my point, more clearly put over.

Not a huge fan of Meslier but is this not a tad unfair. Yes he makes mistakes but unfortunately for him as keeper they get highlited. Actually all he is guilty of is failing to do his job, don’t we all sometimes?
And he is not alone. To mention just three, Piroe missing sitters, not doing his job. Tanaka gives them a needless corner from which they score, not doing his job. And finally Joseph, surely one of the worst to ever wear our shirt, contributes nothing, ever, cannot control a simple throw-in which results in another goal, not doing his job.
Over the season there have been many more. From the owners, the manager and the players, not doing their job.
The result will be yet another toil in this league next season, the reward for “ not doing your job “ !!

sorry guys, i'm not having all this. mes saves a pen, yes drops a howler, but then mateo loses the ball in a simple challenge, ao does the same & allen hits a beauty

get over it

It was a poor penalty - and the save was one all keepers would make if they guessed the right way. There's so excusing dropping a regulation cross under no pressure.

But its true we were awful on the day.. Tanaka's back pass for the corner prior to their first goal was terrible.

Their second was as bad a team defensive effort as you will ever see. A catalogue of errors.

Simple miscontrol off Joseph's shin, pathetic attempted tackle from tanaka, struijk leaves his man to close the swansea player down and get's nutmegged by the pass, no one tracks the guy who struijk was previously marking, meslier beaten from a tight angle. 96 minutes. Anyone imagine Burnley doing that?

Silver lining:
