Onana starts v Lyon

Let's be honest, neither Onana nor Byandir have shown themselves to be decent keepers. Yes - Onana has made lots of good saves but he unnerves the defence and his horrible distribution is part of the reason why we're under pressure so often. Byandir looks really weak. Sure, he made a good penalty save against Arsenal, but every dog has his day.....

ETH should hang his head in shame for offloading De Gea for these two.

Bayindir strikes me as a safer option, he's also had nights like the game against Arsenal, where he was possibly MOTM. He commands his box better, he doesn't parry shots into the danger area and he doesn't have as many clangers. The only game I've seen him look a bad keeper is against Spurs in the League Cup.

I haven't seen a game like that from Onana.

Nothing else quite gives you the amount of sensations that following United does to you. Excitement, Boredom, Hope, despair, Anxiety etc.

We cover the whole range of emotions.

Going into the game hopeful we can win it and get through but you can't sadly remove that thought from back of your mind that some pillock in our team is either going to gift them two goals again or get a red card.

If we do go out I suspect it will be the final time we see a lot of these players play in Europe again for us as it would be 18 months as a minimum until we get back into some form of European competition and possibly longer than that the way we've been heading.

Looking forward to tonite. Could be my last Euro game I (have to) attend tonight. My first game was vs ASSE in the 70s. Its been an incredible journey in between. OT will be right behind the lads tonight dont worry about that. Lets hope they respond back to us.

Let’s hope they play without any fear tonight! 🤞

Think it's going to be a long night. Extra time and maybe even pens very possible.

3-1 United tonight in a much more comfortable game than most of us expect. We do need to start quick though. Feed off the crowd and also give them something to cheer about.

As bad as we've been these last few years we do seem capable of raising ourselves for the big cup games.

Looking forward to tonight’s game [ending] as with the bank holiday tomorrow we’re off into town after for some drinks.

Few terrible beers pre game in the ground to start the night off I guess.

The Atmosphere tonight will be bouncing no doubt. We will get right behind them as usual. The issue is the performances and mistakes in this team can sour it very quickly and make it a very anxious place to play football. Let's hope we have a relatively error free night.

Second leg at home in quarters and second leg at home in semi finals if we make it through. You can't ask for more than that. It's now up to the players to go get the job done.

Amad potentially back for the semi finals should we get through too. What a lift that would give everyone.

Agreed, biggest worry I have with us is not conceding an early goal as we do at times, now that really does as you say ‘sour’ the mood!

This is why we see players leave United and make less mistakes and seem to enjoy their football more. They aren't as afraid to make the odd mistake as the backlash isn't the same.

It takes a strong character and personality to handle playing for this club. Too often we overlook this when recruiting.

It wasn’t pretty. He looked nervous as hell and gifted Newcastle a goal on a plate with his poor distribution.

I thought he looked ok for someone that hasn't played in months and been injured. Yeah he made a mistake, but he wasn't helped by his team.
We had 5 defenders and 2 midfielders and not one of them was making themselves available to receive the ball. It was pathetic.
