1) Many demanded we start challenging for trophies. We are on the road to that with two semi finals reached.

2) The league form has been poor. Ange has made mistakes. But we have had injuries this year to a level that none of us have ever witnessed at Tottenham.

3) Many of you cried for a complete squad rebuild. Well that is what you are witnessing. No club comes close to Tottenham with the amount of minutes afforded to players under 21 this season.

4) Playing down Bodo Glimt is exactly the mentality that has seen Spurs not get over the line in recent years. It’s a entitled mentality. As we often see and hear from ejjits on here. Bodo are there on merit. Bodo have beaten Porto, Braga, Besiktas, Twente, Olympiacos & Lazio. All of which are regularly CL clubs.

So do yourselves a favour and at least pipe down until the season is out. And you know actually try and support your club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Who is playing down bodo Glimt? I certainly am not, Ange struggled on an artificial pitch against non league Tamworth ffs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We are in the semis. At least hold off on the whinge whinge whinge mentality until after game has played.

Many demanded he adapted. Well he did for the 2ng leg of the quarters.

I ain’t directing this at you solely btw.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why? You don't have to listen to it. Go somewhere else if us moaning about the manager with the worst Spurs managerial record in PL history annoys you. We have legitimate reasons for our stance. We're feckin 16th in the league table. We have a full strength side yet we're still getting tonked. So please, less of the injury chat. It holds no credence anymore. We've been awful since about November 2023, way before the injuries started. No one is downplaying Bodo but I'm pretty sure that if the Europa had CL drop downs, you wouldn't be looking at this final four. The standard is poor. It just is. You can argue the point all you want but Ange doesn't have a leg to stand on anymore.

He's the worst manager in our history, certainly since the PL started. Those are facts, not opinions.

Spurs or Utd may well win the Europa but the teams on show have been pretty average.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It would be a somewhat muted celebration if we won it in all honesty, but sat 17th in the PL table. It would feel rather weird.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
no it won't be muted mate...I am running onto the streets to celebrate if we win it....It is a very big IF but so overdue I am not holding back

Although that feels like so far away at the mo, with loss after loss in the league, shockingly sad
----------------------------------------------------------------------

"Muted celebrations" if we win the Europa.

A top trophy, a European trophy. Getting that monkey off our backs. Sticking it down the throats of all those fans and pundits who openly mock us. 17 years without a pot.

Any fans who suggests that winning this cup would be anything less than absolutely massive has got their priorities all wrong.

Some seem too concerned about attacking all aspects of the club than being able to recognise what truly matters.

Some on here seem genuinely concerned that a trophy will take away half the things they moan about constantly, and they will begrudgingly have to get behind their club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Winning a trophy would be everything. It’s the whole point of competition.

No spurs fan I know would ‘begrudgingly get behind the club’. They are behind the club. Spurs fans have been the most patient and supportive on the planet over the last 30 years. Continually paying these high prices for poor performances. Getting behind projects and ‘win now’. Seeing their best players sold for mega money, only to be replaced by cheap investments.

Stop slating spurs fans. They have a right to criticise. Just as you have a right to support a chairman that has overseen failure on the field for 25 years.

I would be dancing down tottenham high road if we won the Europa

Doesn’t mean I think Ange should be given another premier league season. Nor does it mean I will let up
on my criticism of the owners. They need to invest from a position of strength rather than be content and sit on their laurels. That’s what’s led us from a champions league final to 17th in the premier league in 6 years.

Spurs fans are the best and the club are lucky to have them. I won’t hear it any other way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry mate. Im going to call out any fans who belittles winning a European trophy. There's some calling it a B level competition. Some saying their celebrations will be muted if we win. The same fans who moan about no success.

And they can feckin suck it up as i do for being "up Levy's arrrse" (amongst other insults).

17th and a trophy and UCL qualification would be our best season in 16 years.

Fans love to say thing like "even Pomepy won a trophy more recently than us", implying that a trophy is everything regardless of the fact they got relegated.

Now suddenly a trophy isnt everything.

No one is saying that 16th is ok. No one is saying Ange is the future, trophy or not, or that the owners don't need to change the approach to move us forward.

These are all valid criticisms and will be so whether we win the Europa or not...but the moan moan moan of every aspect of the club after every defeat is just tiresome. It really does read like some fans are pissssed off we made it through the QF and couldnt wait to air their grievances against the club again.

Seriously guys is Sandy genuinely stupid or on the wum?

He’s talking as if Spurs and Ange have won the Europa already. The guy is so deluded, he’s actually chalked it down and put the trophy in the cabinet as a compelling reason why Ange is the best spurs manager in modern times.

There 2 matches to play and even with Spurs best XI - I wouldn’t be confident given the history of bottling semis and finals. The team you’re facing in the semi finals are no pushovers

On that basis he’s then making out that finishing just above the relegation places is an absolutely justifiable thing to do - because a team like Spurs can’t possibly manage top 10 and a trophy. Which Forest are proving you can - and better

He’s an absolute moron of epic levels
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Feck me. I thought the kids were back at school!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh shock horror the only poster sticking up for the mess that's Sandy is...................................Sandy
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I see you're putting your one braincell to full use as usual.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good one Sandy
----------------------------------------------------------------------

If you ask others on here whether they think i am Sandy, then the only company you will have is your one braincell.

No one is belittling it and we all want to win it but that's not even the debate. All we're saying is that winning it shouldn't make Ange immune from the sack because finishing 16th or 17th is so catastrophically bad that there's a very real possibility of relegation next year if he stays on. That's where we're heading under him.

Oh, and by the way, Champions League is considered the top tier European competition which would be 'A'. The Europa League is the literal definition of a 'B' level competition.

Trophy-wise, yes.

Fans seem very happy to judge us on success - "26 years, 1 trophy" - when it suits them and then switch it around when they want to make a different point.

No one is saying Ange should stay. Other than Sandy who is doubling down on his usual extreme, contrary position, most accept that, Europa or not, Ange is not the future. I think even Ange knows this

The Forest game was just more evidence of our inability to secure a result, even when the most of our performance was very good. Teams dont have to work that hard to get a result against us, and this trait has plagued us and shows no signs of changing.

Spurs fans happily dismiss the almost constant qualification for Europa or UCL, the high number of finals and semi finals we get to as "not being success", but will then call winning a trophy as not being a successful season either.

We all want us to be top 6 and upwards and competing for and winning trophies.

Right now I will accept winning a trophy as utter success, and then look to next season to get back to achieving the other part of what we feel should be minimum requirements.

Ange can walk off into the sunset with his reputation probably enhanced and we can get a manager who can hopefully bring more balance

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Fair enough to you. I don’t personally know a single fan who would belittle winning the uefa cup. Our club is built on success in these competitions.

posted on 22/4/25

Can I just ask, who out there is belittling winning the Europa? Because that is the accusation here. Like when fans were being told they wanted Poch to succeed at Chelsea more than Ange at spurs.

These things are thrown out there by people but I have never spoken to a single fan who thinks these things.

So put it out there now if you actually think winning the Europa isn’t all that.

Personally I will celebrate like a lunatic if we win it. It will be the first trophy my 16 year old nephew would have seen us win and the first European trophy my 40 year old brother would have seen.

Forest will lose their semi final. No way is a team so limited going to beat City.

Spurs reserves could have had double figures against them last night.

Bottom line is Spurs have a better chance of winning a trophy than Forest.

Quit your moaning OP.

Typically you will jump on the bandwagon if Spurs do win the Europa with their best XI come May.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As a Forest supporter, I’ve occasionally dropped onto your match thread, and I have to say, you Sandy, talk so much crap, you make yourself look like a right clueless idiot at times

How can you genuinely make such a comment (above) when Forest beat City like just 6 weeks ago?

I get you’re hurting because of the way Spurs’ Season has panned out, but to consistently make such silly statements just makes you look more stupid that perhaps you really are 👍🏼

You want to read some of the comments above then, and on Diamonds thread from yesterday.

That's what ive pushed back against.

I accept most fans, like you, see the glory in winning.

Nothing would reduce my ecstasy at winning the Europa. We are judged and ridiculed on our success rate. No one cares where we ended in 2018 or where we ended in the league last time we won a cup or in 1991 or in 1984. Most Spurs fans would have to look it up.

But still a lot of them bite real hard. More fool them IMO.
