Fairly clear we are looking for at least one full back and very likely two and a Goalkeeper and you would think another attacker is needed yet as well. Midfield? Not sure on that, with Boubacar going and Doyle gone I wonder if that isn't on the table as well.

Posters with short memories might evidently be forgetting we were once again forced into the January window market, and panic buy to avoid what looked like certain relegation.

€50m was bought forward from the summer transfer kitty to stay in the division, very much like what happened just a couple of seasons ago and what led JL to fall out with the club.

Unfortunately how many more arrive will depend entirely on shifting some dead wood. It could be a case of one out, one in from here.

Goalkeeper, Wing back, centre back, midfielder, forward. So not less than another 5 new faces on top of Lopez and Arias. We’ve spent less than half the money we got in for Cunha and Ait Nouri and probably a few bob to still come in for Fabio, Guedes, Johnstone. Plus some of the top earners will have gone to reduce the wage bill.
Don’t see a problem in getting that rebuild completed. What we don’t know yet is whether the new faces are going to do any good.

Medical now booked in for Arias after finances fully agreed.

Apparently Guedes working well in training & not pushing to leave, not sure whether another chance is a good or bad idea

Bit of an enigma is Guedes. No question he has ability but you never know what you’re going to get from him match by match. I’d sell him if we got a decent offer but he’s probably a good squad player if not.

Sa suffered a minor eye injury in training in Portugal and won’t be playing in any of the behind closed doors friendlies arranged over there

It's not an argument mate. It's called reality. I'd love to get 6 new players in and if we do, there should be at least 3 quality, expensive ones, plus some decent squad players. But that takes money which this club, under Fosun are reluctant to do. I hope we spend all the money we got from sales. At present we still have 61m euros left in the kitty. (44m if we buy Arias)

There will be more players leaving, I'm sure, either on loan or sold, but I'm not confident that this club gets the right quality players. Just look at the "ones for the future" this club has bought over the years and see how many have actually made it. That's without getting into the Fabio saga. Meupiyou didn't make Portugal and Djiga is now at Rangers. They're just the latest.

Agree with you Spangles, Guedes a bit of an enigma. Another factor which would persuade me to sell him for a reasonable offer is that, I believe, he is now the highest earner at the club. With the money we could get for Guedes we could surely buy another squad forward who will be on half of his wages.

Can anyone tell me why Semedo is in Portugal with the squad, but training on his own? Surely he should have been left in Wolverhampton to train.

We have been on the same forum for decades and not once in that time have you admitted to being wrong about anything. When someone is so disingenuous in their comments then insults are fully justified. Shows how shallow you are that you are very quick to spot typos but pretend you haven’t seen me admitting I was wrong, which unfortunately has happened many many times.

Talking of Trump not only did he stay on the podium for the photos after presenting Chelsea with the CWC, film caught him stealing one of the winners medals and putting it in his pocket before moving on.

I think the size of his wages is probably the reason he’s still here. Can’t imagine another club coming in for him and offering him as much. So will he take a drop or sit with us for the benefit of his bank account. Been the same problem with Fabio and although hopefully he will move on permanently this summer, I wouldn’t rule out him having another loan to see his contract out.
