In fairness as much as I love to slate Liverpool fans, it was a relative minority I thought.

Awful from the fans who booed. Especially in the context of the game at that moment. Players come and go. Grow up and move on.

This is the ridiculous thing, it’s our club’s main song and we just booed one of our players that had won everything for Liverpool while wearing a red shirt, appalling display from the fans.

Trent’s been a part of some of the best moments supporting Liverpool in recent memory, I dont get the booing, It spoiled the game for me and we ended up getting rattled and giving the lead away. Stupid.

Maybe they were saying boo-urns?

Seriously though not nice to see, I get some folk are livid etc but no need for that and he has also contributed to this season’s title win.

I get it.

He's a local lad getting very well paid, winning big trophies and living the dream of most of the 60k inside Anfield today. Some will take it personally that he wants to leave what to them is a perfect life behind.

I disagree. He’s not a Madrid player because he is still wearing our shirt. He’s still getting paid by the club too.

Also, so what that he’s leaving on a free? Knowing our owners, they would take the £££ and spend it on something else other than investing it on transfers.

He won everything and wants a new challenge which is fine but he also wanted a big pay day at the cost of the club not getting a fee. He already won everything but he kept in using excuses to run down the contract. But he is entitled to do that, to run down his contract. Ideally it would been nice if he allowed lfc to get some fee for him but that means he gets a lesser contract.

Re we could sold him for 20 mil jan, that is true but in reality was not an option as it would have left us short at rb. Carra was right, this was another ploy for trent and his team i feel to say yeah but the club turned down the offer.

So sum up. Booing is silly esp as he is still.playing for us does he leave as a legend, upto flc fans to decide that.

Will he be considered a "Legend"? No. If he`d stayed in to his 30s and continued with his awesome abilities, become captain and led us to more trophies, then yes, definitely.
I completely respect his desire for a new challenge, to win more trophies in a different league and personal awrds! good luck to him. i do believe he is genuine that it is not money motivated.
My Issue is how he has dealt with the process of leaving. For me, he should have declared at season start that this season would be his last and he wants a new challenge etc. We would all be sad but we can respect it and appreciate him. rather than not knowing and feeling deceived


I reckon Madrid tap up the agent of players they like and declare their desire but state that they wont pay a transfer fee! Only a signing bonus. So it means the player has to run down their contract or Madrid wont try to sign them at all. Makes the player seem greedy when all they want is to play for RM

He was booed (including by me) because of the manner of leaving the club he professed to love so much.

Didn’t see anyone giving someone a backhand in the ground so you must have been on your sofa.

Bit it clearly is about money as well. He achieved it all 3 seasons ago. They club approached him.with 2 years left according to the echo and he then said I want to see how new manager does. So new manager wins league and now he says he needs new challenge? Sorry but this is to do with money as well otherwise he would have told club he wants ti leave 2 years ago and lfc would then try to off load at least by start of this season.
