I have a feeling that Palace will beat City in the FA Cup final. Chelsea and NF end up with Europa League football. Arsenal, Newc, City and Villa in the CL.

I've said all along that I reckon Villa will sneak in and Chelsea and Forest will both miss out.

It'll almost definitely be on that Cfc Forest game though and I think Forest probably would need to win it too, which should suit Cheksea but Jackson is a major loss for them

Thought it would be Chelsea and Forest missing out, but I have a sneaky feeling Forest will blow it against West Ham making the Chelsea game meaningless for them.

Do you not want the best teams in the CL, DJ? Forest will be bottom half next season with European football.

If Chelsea get that 5th top 4 spot then they will be able to sign some players and compete in the CL. Forest won't.

Villa are going to win out, the fixture list has really turned in their favour

Newcastle I think will beat Everton and lose to Arsenal

Chelsea will beat United but draw with Forest.

So Villa and Newcastle for me

Well as we saw the week just gone Barry, the best team in the CL is not necessarily the team that wins it

Forest have blown it now. 2 points from 12 and cannot even beat Leicester at home. West Ham are high on confidence now.

There is no "want", and the "best teams" are decided in a pre-determined format based on points won over a 38 game-week season rather than predictions of the future.

I'm rooting for Forest and Villa

A team like Forest in the CL could bring down England's chances of 5th place getting top 4 next season. Same with Spurs or Man U. Although we don't know how they'd do in the CL cos both clubs are schizo.

Who do you think would do better in the CL next season out of Chelsea and Forest, and does this impact on who you want to qualify? Or happy for Forest to be in it even though they will probably be crap?

Happy for Forest to be in it if they qualify.

Man City were crap in it this season, and Liverpool limped out very early. Forest will probably do better than both managed this year.

I don't think anyone is touching England's coefficients even if they do bad next season

shame no real title race or relegation battle(phew) for some excitement but its also good its close in the 6 behind the leaders. some jeopardy going into the end of the season

I'm not saying this would happen, but we have seen teams defy their relative league positions to go on good European runs - not just in England but all round Europe.
Seems to be a slight inference that only the bigger teams should be in CL

If anything I think that's actually worse for Chelsea. If it's meaningless for Forest then they would just play their normal way to try and win or draw.

If they need a win they'll probably still play their normal way for 70 mins but then go toe to toe with zcheksea.

Or Chelsea rather

English teams doing well in Europe benefits other English teams so you should want your representatives with the most potential in there.

Fans of teams like Spurs whose best chance of getting top 4 next season is via finishing 5th, because they won't be in the EL.

This means that they REALLY want Chelsea to be in the CL next season as they would help secure the 5th top 4 spot to help Spurs.

Chelsea being in the Europa League next season would also mean that they would probably win that, at the expense of any other English team in that. The two "gimme" spots into the top 4 are therefore hugely influenced by Chelsea.

So everyone should be a big Chelsea fan in the coming weeks.

Maresca has struggled since Xmas even though he has been able to play the kids in Europe. He will have to go full strength in the CL and that could affect Prem form, alternatively he stays strong in the Prem and that affects CL form.

Liverpool and City will have better showings in the CL next season, Arsenal should get through the group stage comfortably and Newcastle and Villa will be steady. United or Spurs - depends on multiple factors, like who is managing them, but I would back both to get through the group stage, just.

Chelsea and Forest to then do well in the Europa - Chelsea should be hitting the final really and Forest are def capable.

Brentford or Brighton to make the Conference final

Additional spot again and well deserved

It's simply one team - if enough teams do well, then the co-efficient or whatever it's called these days will remain high.
And it's good to see smaller clubs getting through to Europe, there isn't much romance left in football, so let's see some other names make it.
And can't be seen supporting Chelsea

As the two nations with the extra team found out, the extra place makes it very difficult for the same nation to get top 2 in consecutive seasons. The points won are divided by more, so every win is worth less. If anything United and Chelsea should forfeit their prospective places and give them to Germany.
