I've heard he's going to bring Endrick with him, frustrated about a lack of opportunities at Real and doesn't think he'll get a run with Mbappe, Vini & Rodrygo all there. Loan with option to buy, just need Real to agree to a sell on clause instead of a fee.
Timing seems a bit off. If he doesnt start till mid june then that doesnt exactly give him any time to prepare for rangers first game in july

This comment is spot on ... he will have no time ... assuming you ignore the month he will have
If he does come in he will have very little say on players being signed... he is a coach and it will the DOF that brings in players for him to improve. The days of a manager coming and overseeing everything and leading the player acquisition should be behind teams now.

You say this but a few of Celtic best players last couple years have been players Ange knew, rather than signings who will have been picked by DOF/scouting.
I agree with the principle but if a manager has detailed knowledge of markets and players we don’t, then you have to use that.

I'm torn on this as I agree that modern day football usually means the manager/coach sets the team up and sets the style etc and the DOF gets the players in BUT a part of me also feels that if a manager thinks a certain player would do a job and suit his way of playing the club should go after said player, maybe a mix of both is the way forward but honestly no idea if there is a "best way forward"?

yes there will be the odd time when thats the case but in terms of sustainability and cohesion of the club it must be done with the DOF.

Does the DOF bring players in he thinks the club should buy, or does he bring in players that the manager feels he needs-like for certain positions, etc?
I get the continuity argument, but that limits your choice for manager as they have to suit a certain style then. And what happens when the DOF moves on-does it all change again?

The last sentence is clearly wrong, even the poor ones they got their money back or made a profit on. There is always an element of signings not working, even the teams that are the best at picking talent like Brighton have scores of failed transfers that are completely insignificant when you look at the ones that have done well.
You’ll never have it where every signing works out.

manger will no doubt let the DOF know what positions he needs players in and the type of player then it will be down the the DOF and the scouts to find the best fit for that requirement. I know were moving onto a very stat driven type of scouting, looking to apply Moneyball.
the DOF should be the one picking the manager, which should make the transition from one manager to the other easier and more fluent.

If they go with Ancelotti's boy, can only give the guy a chance
Don't think it really matters who we bring in, there's no real outstanding candidate that's currently available at the moment, so it was either gonna be a "project" like this guy.....or a somewhat proven but bargain basement type.
He's worked as an assistant for nearly 10 years, with Carlo at Bayern, Napoli, Everton and Madrid.....so he has a bit of experience in various leagues, with players at various levels.
He worked with big Dunc at Everton, there's talk he could be part of his backroom staff
You never know with these guys, however I did hear that while at Everton, he rated Dominic Calvert-Lewin and likened him to C.Ronaldo and Drogba.......

Money and success is what matters. I’d bet they’ve already made a profit on the sale of these players, then Maeda and Hatate are two of their best players, Yang a good enough squad player. If they sell those three they’ll have made a massive profit on these 11 players, the exact opposite of poor.
Would also bet the value for money from signings made by scouting/DOF have been far worse.

Last part makes sense when you hear he was the one that told Carlo to bring on Joselu for Bellingham when they were losing in their CL semi final to Bayern
Might mean we’re going after Lyndon Dykes after all

Kyogo - no financial success yet - massive success on the park
Hatate - no financial success yet - massive success on the park
Ideguchi- financial loss - $hite on the park
Maeda - no financial success yet - massive succes on park
Oh - financial loss - $hite on the park
Kobayashi - financial loss - $hite on the park
Iwata - financial loss - $hite on the park
Tilio - financial loss - $hite on the park
Yang - financial loss - $hite on the park
Kwon - financial loss - $hite on the park
Iwata - financial loss - $hite on the park
*Kyogo - very good profit - massive success on the park
You’ve listed Iwata twice, and I’m fairly certain we got our money back on him, same as Oh.
Tilio is still our player, so no loss as yet. Yang is still our player as well as Kwon.

he was doubly $hite
Where are you getting that pash from, Kyogo they made a good profit on where you been. Ideguchi they made a couple hundred grand, Oh lost 100k, Iwata profit of 20k etc.
I’d be bloody happy if we get our money back on Ben Davies, Dowell, Bajrami etc.

and the other two have been $hite and so far cost you money so what I typed is spot on.
Oh was $hite, and he cost you money even if you got the transfer fee back (not what im reading what is reported is a slight loss) but add wages into that and he was $hite and a financial loss.
Iwata ... exact same as Oh

I already corrected the Kyogo one,
tje other players cost celtic money they didnt stink up the place for free they were paid.
if we get the money back on Davies, Dowell, Bajrami that wont mean that they were good signings they will still be $hite players that managed to restrict our losses on.

If he does come in he will have very little say on players being signed... he is a coach and it will the DOF that brings in players for him to improve. The days of a manager coming and overseeing everything and leading the player acquisition should be behind teams now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You say this but a few of Celtic best players last couple years have been players Ange knew, rather than signings who will have been picked by DOF/scouting.
I agree with the principle but if a manager has detailed knowledge of markets and players we don’t, then you have to use that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yes there will be the odd time when thats the case but in terms of sustainability and cohesion of the club it must be done with the DOF.
Besides the majority of Ange's Asian market signings were poor.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The last sentence is clearly wrong, even the poor ones they got their money back or made a profit on. There is always an element of signings not working, even the teams that are the best at picking talent like Brighton have scores of failed transfers that are completely insignificant when you look at the ones that have done well.
You’ll never have it where every signing works out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kyogo
Hatate
Ideguchi
Maeda
Oh
Kobayashi
Iwata
Tilio
Yang
Kwon
Iwata
I make it only Kyogo. Hatate and Maeda were players that improved or were/are up to standards for your team, Id say 3 out of 11 is the equivalent of the majority being poor.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Money and success is what matters.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Last part makes sense when you hear he was the one that told Carlo to bring on Joselu for Bellingham when they were losing in their CL semi final to Bayern
Might mean we’re going after Lyndon Dykes after all

You’ve listed Iwata twice, and I’m fairly certain we got our money back on him, same as Oh.
Tilio is still our player, so no loss as yet. Yang is still our player as well as Kwon.
