Yeah, we were not looking like we were going to get it done prior to the last 6 games for sure.

But credit where credit is due they managed the run in amazingly, despite the patchy nature of the performances.

The issue that troubles me is we are a poor side currently, this season was wide open and we have not overall pushed back against decent opposition.

I question Maresca , I did expect more from him, I do actually believe with a better manager we would be a better side by now.

We have had glimpses, but by the end of this season, I would have expected us to be a lot better as a first 11.

What do you guys make of Maresca? Seems like a similar pattern to Leicester where it started nice, got stale and looked like he might not get the club over the line but eventually managed it.

I don't think they're hugely fond of him so I'm kinda interested to see how he continues to do.

Haven't seen much of him, but currently I feel he is an egotistical unlikeable t1t, who really doesn't have a plan b and his plan a as a supporter is terrible to watch, and in general I agree with ifarka, with a different manger we would be in a better position.

The team has rightfully been criticised this season, especially in the second half of the season and although the results improved a little at the end the performances haven't, and I could be wrong but I feel its Enzos tactics being pushed on the team, our attack is arguably the worst to watch in England with us basically being saved by our defenders to score.

Don't get me wrong the management haven't helped him with players - we have needed a decent cb, gk, and striker for the better part of 2 seasons now. But I really feel its his tactics that have massively shackled out attacking ability.

I hope I am eating humble pie come December, and I was totally wrong about him, but I can equally see us struggling in the prem and getting spanked by any semi decent team in the UCL with a bit of spunk.

Personally was just craving a period of stability after the Potter/Lampard season so wasn't particularly an advocate of changing things at the end of last season given that we'd made some progress.

My own expectations for this season irrespective of who was in charge was a genuine challenge for CL place as a priority and a successful Conference League Campaign with opportunities given along the way to some of our youngsters.

CL place has been achieved so my congratulations to Manager and players as a progression from last season.

IMO EM has done enough to justify the chance to further build on this season next year, however I think there are plenty of question marks that remain and that next season will be a defining season for him as to the way forward after that.

Looking back on the season I would divide it into three parts, the first up until December, the second up until April and then the run in as the third.

Thoroughly enjoyed the the first period of the season as a match going fan, performances were enjoyable and yielded some good results hence our position at that point.

Second part of the season can count on one hand probably how many games I enjoyed going to and this is where I have a problem with EM.

"I can understand, we are trying to keep them happy, I think the fans are the same that time ago they were thinking that Chelsea is back, they were showing that they were happy and now probably because we are not winning the same amount of games that we were winning at the beginning, they are showing that they are not happy. So in the way we accept when they were thinking that Chelsea is back, we need to accept now that they are not happy."

Not sure you get us Enzo, Not just about the results and purely winning games, it's the regression in performances during that time and the change to pedestrian and I hate to say it, Boring style of football. Combine that with the inflexibility to change things when things were not working, try a plan B but no, manager just kept on with the same things regardless.

As far as I can remember took him an absolute age to try something different until he finally at least tried Neto through the middle instead of Christo for example. Kind of banging your head against a brick wall type of tactics or just a stubbornness on his part but certainly echos of his failings at Leicester which you hoped he would have learned from.

In fact correct me if I am wrong but wasn't it the Leicester (senior) players themselves who actually called a players only meeting to try and turn their poor form around ahead of the Southampton game?

I also want to see our creative players given the freedom to play and influence the game rather than more or less rendered as bit part players in a restrictive system of playing.

The third part of the season I realise was not about performance but simply getting the job done by whatever means necessary in order to get that CL place, and credit to EM for negotiating a particular tricky looking run of games to successfully make that achievement.

Have always said that owners have not helped us achieve our targets by their refusal to enhance the squad in the areas needed for the past two seasons. I am hoping that EM has adopted his chosen way of playing because he feels he does not have the players available to alternate, so he felt the best chance of achieving his targets was through this way of playing.

If so then fair enough however fans will expect to see a more expressive way of playing next season for sure.

I really hope we address the shortcomings in the squad by prioritise the signings that enhance the squad NOW rather than even more players that may or may not ever feature for us. By all means look at young prospects for the future but please please please start being selective.

Good luck to Enzo, hopefully a win tomorrow night, look forward to watching us in the club World Cup and please a more entertaining style of performance with flexibility to adapt as required.

Summing up I think Enzo is at a similar position to when he left Leicester, can't knock what he had/has achieved but question marks over style of play and ability or willingness to adopt any thing other than a Plan A.

Wish him all the best though.

Also hope that the Owners try and establish a closer connection with fans, maybe talking to official fans group or to the club website directly rather than us hear any news or updates only through a business forum would be a good start.
