I've started ticking my bucket list off on the basis that it's never too early to start but it can be too late.
Went to Sarawak in March to see the Orangutans in the wild.
Komodo Dragons in Summer '26 if everything goes well.

How was the Orangutan experience?

1. Do a lions tour. Preferably Oz
2. Travel the west coast of the states. Probably have to wait until the mango Mussolini has gone.
3. Finish decorating the house. Again.

OP, would recommend a one day tournament for cricket.
In the right location you’ll do a day on, day off - perfect to balance relaxing vs partying at the cricket.

Of the other suggestions, would 100% support Japan and African safari.
For the safari, go big and do three or four nights, five star.
The people staying a single night or even two regretted it because there’s just not enough time to properly see everything.
Drinking beer while the sun goes down, in the middle of nowhere, watching the giraffes walk along close by, will stay with me forever.

A few that spring to mind are:
Walk the South west coastal path
visit America (preferably the west coast)
write a script for a TV programme (this ain't going to happen but dare to dream) currently in the early stages of one following a grassroots kids football coach

A bucket full on money well trodden down.
Or failing that a meal with family and friends at a three star restaurant in Paris, and a good hotel to sleep it off.

I hear ya it just feels like zoo though and exploitation in a different way. I know it is inevitable but hate it when tourism absolutely explodes around attractions because it is usually nasty unless carefully controlled or sustained and it fcks it. Didn't enjoy Japan but that was business.

Really fair point but if you take some time to research where to go, you’ll find that some places are really about conservation than profit.
On that note, I have a trip to Myanmar on the cards if and when it settles down politically. A friend of mine went there and stayed at a place where they’re genuinely looking after elephants, rather than exploring them, and it sounded amazing.
My wife’s grandad has also told me a few stories about the war there as well, so it’d be fascinating to visit.
