Almost exclusively the least manly type of people in the world.

Yeh that's weird isn't it? The number of men I see trying to insult other men by calling them a simp or a beta is crazy. Just insecure little bellends.

Pets. Yep, you have a dog. Great. So do thousands of other people.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No time for it, especially calling them their children or themselves pawrents. Shut up you nerd.
Also, I have zero time for fat people really, so have no interest in them showing a tiny bit of discipline.
I’ll throw in how far some has just run complete with map of where.

Proper cringe.
The Liverpool fans are mad for this sh!t. Photos of the them in full kit, stood in front of the stadium....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In response to how football shapes peoples personalities you immediately call out your biggest rivals - very funny.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I can't help it if you're all pathetic.

One FB 'friend' I have must post about 3-4 times a day, be it a memory, an inspirational post, a picture of her kid(s) or a picture of herself with a glass of proseco in her hand. Ironically these people make out they have a great life but given they make a post about going to the pub for a cheeseburger and glass of pino grigio, tells me they have one similar to most people!

Who actually gives a feck?
All of my mates are always on at me about sharing our runs on some Apple app. They all have iPhones and like to share their workouts with each other and where they have been running/cycling. So glad I am a Samsung man and can't get involved.

I guess it's like all walks of life, moderation is fine, but once it goes OTT it's prob not good for that person and let's face it, becomes annoying for everyone else.
Maybe I am happy just being a little bit grumpy

Similar to diet/lifestyle but people's gym work outs. WTAF, is it not good enough they spend hours looking at themselves in the mirror while doing their latest kettlebell work out, they have to share it with the whole world. No one gives A F !!

This may sound a bit nasty but a few years ago a friend's father in law died. She must have put up near to 20 posts over the next few weeks about him, the funeral etc, whereas her husband just put a picture of him and his Dad.
Attention seeking at it's finest!

One of my mates missus’ categorically told while out having a few drinks that she doesn’t enjoy going out for drinks and would much rather be at home watching Netflix with a cup of tea.
Yet, every rare time she is out for a drink she has to post a pic of the drink on social media.
Make it make sense.

One of my peeves is people making public statuses wishing a friend a happy birthday (or whatever celebration) rather than simply sending them a direct message. The only reason, as far as I can tell, is to virtue signal and attention seek that the person posting is a good friend for making a birthday post.
Went to an absurd extreme on my most recent birthday when my sister posted an Instagram post wishing me a happy birthday which I wouldn't even be able to see since I've never had an Instagram account.

It's so cringe worthy... Posing in the pool in sluuty positions in front of families... staff etc... The level of ego and lack of shame is beyond me.

Lots of people seem to make happy birthday/happy mothers day/happy fathers day posts about people who aren't even on that platform.
But thats not as bad as women who wish themselves "happy fathers day"...

I pretty much got rid of my social media for the reasons the OP posted.
Since growing up and in the last few years getting rid of Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and whatever else I much prefer it. Don't really give a fack what people are up to and their life stories and I don't care to post about mine.
Growing up I never used to use Reddit but I use it a lot more recently. Much prefer Reddit for just having general discussion with people. That, alongside WhatsApp for staying in touch with people I care about and actually talking to them, instead of their choreographed walls on the other platforms like FB and Insta or Snap.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I got rid of everything but use Reddit now and again. Now I don’t have to read expert opinions on nuclear physics from your woman down the street who quit school when she was 12 and has five kids, as she did her research.
