A bit of critical thinking wouldn't hurt you here.

Of course athletes can get tired.

But tired professionals who play for top tier teams should be able to comfortably beat a team made up half of professionals, half of semi-professionals.

Much as I'll always want & back Tuchel to succeed, it's gunna be so funny to me if he doesn't measure up to Southgate's achievements

It'll serve as a lesson (which England fans won't learn) that quality of manager/tactican is merely one consideration when building a successful environment in football. Just because Tuchel's a better coach, this is undisputed, doesn't mean he'd be a better leader to this group of players.

If it ain't broken, don't fix it. Southgate's England wasn't broken, but people felt it needed fixing anyway.
