If he can stay fit he's clearly a better option for the Premier League than Piroe.
Big if though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you know that? Let's give Piroe a chance for goodness sake.
Seen people expressing their amazement on facebook because Bamford has larger biceps. It won't improve his composure in front of goal.
Piroe & Byram were joint winners of the bleep test which is the yardstick for overall fitness at this stage of the season.
What do you seriously think Bamford can offer in the Premiership in 2025?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because I've been watching both of them play for a few years now. Bamford longer than Piroe obviously.
Bamford's composure in front of goal will always be awful, and never ging to be anywhere near as good a finisher as Piroe.
But Bamford's hold up play, ability to stretch defences and create space (both for himself and others) and pressing are miles ahead of Piroe and that's what we will need more of.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bamford was woeful last time we were in the Premiership & there is zero evidence to suggest he would be any different if given any further opportunities there.
Piroe's never played in the Premiership. Unknown quantity.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Such a simple reply.
Did you understand anything that you are responding to or did you just ignore it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
🤣🤣 When did you last see Bamford exhibit any of the attributes you claim he still has?
This "hold up play" he's supposedly so good at has become the stuff of myth & legend.
In the entirety of last season he made one decent cameo away at Middlesbrough where in fairness he was robbed of a goal. Other than that, his appearances were only notable for the ridiculous dives he has added to his game.
I've been accused on here of having an "agenda" which is as laughable as it is pathetic. I have absolutely nothing against Patrick Bamford the person. In fact, i've heard him talking about subjects away from football and i happen to agree with him where the vast majority of the public wouldn't. But as a footballer he's been living on past glories, specifically the 20/21 season, for too long. It's time for him & us to move on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And like I said he hasn't been able to stay fit, so yes been unable to play anywhere near his best. If the changes he's made mean he can stay fit then hopefully he can find that form again. Feels unlikely, but I would prefer it to happen than not.
Not sure what you mean by move one? Or if you understand the concept of contract?
It's no longer solely about fitness with Bamford. He's past it.
When will you be able to grasp this?

Regarding Bambi. One year left on a 70 k a week contract. Worth very little in resale value as who would take a chance with his injury record. No lower league team is gonna match his wages unless a Saudi team comes in but can't see it so Bambi will go nowhere.. another 3.5 million in the bank whether he gets to play or not and then look at his options when contracts up. I know I wouldn't and I'm guessing most on here would settle for the the big bucks and worry about the future next summer
Sorry I know I would hang about for the big bucks

The caveat to that is that the guy obviously wants to play and get as fit as he possibly can!
Maybe he’s on great money but I don’t see a guy who just wants to sit on the bench and do nothing.
Got to say, other than for those who are interested in betting (I’m not), this is an odd thread. From a purely footballing perspective, I have no interest in where we finish in relation to the other 2 promoted clubs - my only interest is finishing in 17th place (or above obvs).
Each to their own though, I guess.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the last few games last season Bamford played a bit, and I thought he was really good!..
If he manages to stay fit there is no reason not to use him the way he was used the last few games last season, you never know, maybe he'll surprise a few and play a bit more!..

Light Brigade, if you have no interest in top Promoted Club you don't have to comment.
I do actually think it's interesting on a few levels. I thought we had far better players than Burnley and Sunderland last season and should have won the league easily.
We have a far greater pull I think than those teams and really should be finishing above them
But at the moment Sunderland appear to be the value
If it's Leeds united football I'm always interested
But of course everyone is different

Fair enough white but in my opinion he's shown something in his last appearances that have been helpful to the team.
Injuries are a reason to stay away from a player but he's with the team already so I hope we try to get the best out of him.
Would be a great story if he could contribute in some way.
