Everyone has their own views. I regularly read comments i consider absolute nonsense. But in such cases i tend not to comment at all rather than throw a needless bitchy remark into the mix.

My views on Bamford are well known and i make no apology for them. It's my opinion. As i said the other day, as a person he comes across as possibly from a similar political viewpoint as myself from a few things he has said in the past. It's Bamford the footballer i don't rate.

I'm not interested in arguing with you every day, life is too short & ultimately we all want the same thing. But i won't put up with nonsense on here that i wouldn't put up with in the real world.

Yep, just read this entertaining thread. Tonnes of irony how those accusing others of being b1tchy are doing just that throughout......

Thing is they actually don't make totally bad points. Clock is ticking on the window and in an ideal world we'd have a more known team by now. That said, as Wilko states, 49ers you have to hope are astute enough to worry about our business not other clubs.

was reading the article, totally agreeing with Lubes point of veiw, and still do, do think its too early for any negativilty,

until, he got himself on the back foot and starts using insults... the vocab he uses is condescending at best.

we were good friends on here, me and Lubes, until we had a disagreement about something, I called him woke and yes was maybe sarcastic in places but I made sure I kept it away from insults... but I did feel I got the better of the debate,

he then came to me with a barrage of insults, very childishly, and totally out of the blue... then, has the brass nexk to filter me

It's good I think to get things off your chest and paint a doomsday bleak outlook for the club you love, cathartic so with that in mind and hoping the opposite happens I will add a few more dark depressing paragraphs to this thread.

Momentum is so key and in an ideal world Leeds would have another 3 key signings in time to bond with the rest of his team mates and play in the first friendly against Man U and generally be getting used to life in the area getting settled so by the time Everton at home comes along the first team are in the best possible shape mentally and physically so the longer it takes to seal a deal for a first choice keeper, No.10 and Striker the harder it is to get off to flying start and build confidence and momentum and of course camaraderie amongst the team so I hope Im wrong in sensing the owners are quite prepared to sweat it out until transfer deadline day when they think they can get bargains or discounts and appease their investors...but at what cost if we are pointless in the first 4 games?

For me and I realise you have to exercise some financial restraint but you also have to be ambitious and brave in convincing prospective targets to join Leeds and so far apart from Bijol and Gudmundsson the rumoured targets are choosing elsewhere and the owners appear to be stubbornly not prepared to go that extra mile to seal deals quickly intime for pre season so unless that situation dramatically changes this week or next then I fear the team will get off to a poor start and that is hard to claw back in the EPL as Southhampton especially proved

Am with Macca on this one, despite being six months ago, we also ended up with promotion, it makes total sense for Padraig to hold a grudge, even say Farke staying, but then not sign players, ( does 4 count as signings 🤷🏻‍♂️) Sabotage the season, along with millions at stake. Its so logical

It's never too early for negativity and positivity.
A few weeks ago I was positive, that has changed and could change again quickly.
I say it as I see it at the time.
It appears finding it difficult to pull off goal scorer signing and a 10 amongst other positions.
Those two are particularly tough, think we all get that, no harm in giving an opinion..

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the club don't sign a 10. If we do move to a back three, then its probably that position that drops out of the 11. Even if we don't, and we choose to operate with a more conservative midfield, it might be the case that we play Ampadu deep, with two more workmanlike midfielders (Stach and Tanaka, for instance) in front of him, and trust the wide players to carry the bulk of the creativity.

I totally understand the frustrations being expressed on here and feel the same, that we should be making more progress, etc. I try to manage my negativity about this apparent lack of progress by considering the context of where we are today.

We've been promoted to the PL, but our primary objective is to avoid relegation this season.

First, that means we're prime targets for opportunistic price inflation on the part of clubs and agents. Negotiations will no doubt be particularly tricky. Marathe will be careful not to repeat the stupid money signings of the Orta years. It may also be that he'll hold funds in reserve for a January window, with or without Farke.

Second, it is probably true that the prospect of a season spent scrapping against relegation and maybe getting hammered a few times is not an easy sell.

Third, the summer window is a total merry-go-round with lots of deals triggering other deals. Would it be fair to say that a good proportion of these are done at the back end of the window? There's still plenty of time.

It's evident that the club is being cautious but at the same time, it's equally evident that to protect its PL status, it will need to invest further, particularly in a striker, a 10, and keeper. That's at least a further 70 million, at today's prices. I think I will start to worry if they sign free agents like Wilson or Calvert-Lewin.

Even if we don't sign a 10 wed still need someone to replace Solomon. James, Gnonto, Ramazani and Aaronson arent enough quality to safely keep us up i don't think. Hamer makes sense and can also take set pieces. Maybe the club still thinks it can land Solomon
