Really hope we hang on to Struijk.
Wonder if Nmecha is seen as our new #9
until the Muniz deal gets over the line?

He’s obviously second choice. I really don’t get keeping Piroe for third choice. He’s just going to drop in value. Especially if we can’t move Bamford on.
Muniz, Nmecha, Joseph makes the most sense to me.
We are still well short at GK and in the attack. But the positive is that we have our back 4 and 2 holdi n midfielders sorted so loads of work can be done on shape and build up where it really matters.
Muniz, Nmecha, Joseph

Love that group. I still feel Joseph has what
it takes to become a very good striker. Like
Struijk, I'm really hoping we keep him.
I know PSR has something to say about it.
Added Joseph back in the main group now his position has been clarified by Farke

I think the reasoning with Piroe is that we have him on a lengthy contract, and we don't have a preferred striker at the moment. Who did you think was more effective - Piroe or Nmecha?

Nmecha quite easily.
Piroe can do 2 things really well. He has a cracking finish and lovely through balls. Weights them perfectly.
And will do both better than Nmecha.
But he's just not in the game enough. Can be a passenger for long periods of the game where you almost forget he's on the pitch. He's an awful presser, even when he is chasing it's never effective. He always loses aerial duals. And often loses possession when receiving under pressure.
Nmecha was constantly receiving the ball with back to goal and retaining possession allowing us to move up the pitch. Also offers runs in behind to stretch the defence and create space for others. And so much more competitive aerially.
There will be games this season where Piroe is really good, where he comes on the game suits him. Probably along side one of the other forwards rather than as the 9. And he could potentially get some key goals for us but I do think that the vast majority of the time he has on the pitch at this level he will really struggle to influence the game.
Wonder how many more chances DF is going to give Mateo Joseph to establish himself. Surely, this will be his last chance with us, if he stays that is?
