I find Arsenal going for Gyokeres over Sesko an odd choice for them, especially as the lesser sum of £60.6m will apparently get the Sesko deal done. But I have not seen an awful lot of either, mainly UCL, so may be im missing something. May be Sesko's reputation is greater than his quality, at that price point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Gyokeres’ 97 goals versus Sesko’s 39 over the last two seasons probably has something to do with it.

Leipzig were quoting us €80-90M and wouldn't budge on the price so we went for Gyokores
I don't know if this price drop is accurate

There's a disparity between the quality of their respective leagues and the respective clubs.
Interested to see how Gyokeres adapts. I agree with Rio Ferdinand's comments that the physical advantage he has in Portugal will not be the case in the PL .
Lest we forget that Darwin Nunes was going at a goal a game in Liga Portugal.

Nuñez only did that in his last season at Benfica.
Gyokeres has been tearing it up for more than 24mths in PT as well as in the CL/EL, and for Sweden.
I get the point about his physical advantage in PT and agree with Rio. He won’t be able to bully PL CBs the same way he has been doing. But he’ll score plenty.

Jonas Oliviera scored 110 in 135 in Portugal compared to 36 in 113 in Spain.
Das Bost 76 in 84 in Portugal compared to 12 in 36 in Germany.
Nunez 32 in 57 compared to 25 in 95 in england.
Martinez 67 in. 90 compared to 2 in 15 in Spain.
Slimani 52 in 91 compare to 8 in 40 in England.
Going off the above he will do well to get 40% of the goals he has scored in Portugal.

Based on his last two Primeira Liga seasons, if he plays 38 games and sees a 60% drop off, he’ll still net 17 goals.
Given that he’s going into a pretty decent Arsenal side, I’d expect him to top that if he’s taking the penalties. If not, 17 or so I’d say would be about right and I think Arsenal would be pretty happy with that.
