Great another manager making us sign all his ex players. Should go well.
If we could bring him in and also move on Casemiro that would be good business.
I read we're also looking to loan out Collyer.

Yup.
Would probably also mean that we're looking to recruit both a CM/CDM and a ST. With all the rumors a GK is also on our books.
Dunno, I think the idea was always to get an athletic CM who is good on the ball and press resistant which Hjulmand sounds like he is. Can play in a double pivot with Bruno or Ugarte, and hopefulyl also Mainoo.
I suppose if this is true, and we manage to move on Sancho, Garnacho, and Antony, we'll be more than OK on PSR if we buy a CF (Sesko/Watkins), Hjulmand, and a GK (Lammens?). Collyer out on loan could also lead to a decent fee next Summer or a much more rounded player if he comes back.
If we did manage that then it could be a very decent window IMO.

Collyer going on loan seems like a strong signal we'll be buying a CM. Dynamism is the quality we most lack in midfield, and it's the first thing Collyer brings. Either that or they've earmarked a different player (Kone?) as the youth product who will get some minutes in that position this season.
We desperately need one of our CB's to essentially become a 6 this season and step into midfield.
Far too often last year we had a flat 2 man midfield and 3 CB's with huge spaces in between. If we do that again this season, we're in for another torrid season.
Whoever Ruben chooses for this role needs to understand what's being asked of him. Martinez I think could do it fairly well but obviously he's not going to be fit to start the season. Maybe Mazraoui could do a decent job of it as he'd tidy enough on the ball. Yoro perhaps too.
De Ligt n Maguire are not suited. They are out and out CB's and should be left there.
Yikes, I’m really not sure about this one.
If we were gonna be playing European football, I could just about see it to add to squad depth. But he isn’t an upgrade on Ugarte, and Amorim wouldn’t be playing them together (I’d hope).

Both of the wide CBs will be asked to carry the ball and push up into midfield to help break the lines.

Cant see us signing 5 (6 if you include Leon) in this window with the financial.restraints we are working under.
Looks like a bit of a headless chicken.
If Heaven and Yoro can fulfil their potential, then along with Maz, i can see that as a very good CB 3. But this season, you would expect De Ligt / Maguire / Martinez to still have a signifcant role during than transition as both Yoro and Heaven develop, unless they really make big strides early on in the season.
I know little of Hjulmand, but if we get him, hopefully he is really what we need in CM.
That leaves GK and a CF to sort out.
Whilst our transfer dealings have been slightly limited in terms of realistic targets, we could still have a good window. I see no harm in trying to be optimistic about this, too often we have just felt so low about on-goings at the club

So is he basically just another workhorse DM in the Ugarte mold? Not technically good?
If we get this guy, it's shaping up to be a very good window.
With the addition of Cunha and Mbuemo, I'd be OK with giving Hojlund and Zirkzee another season to prove themselves worthy.
