I read somewhere that Arsenal were quoted 90m for Sesko? have we managed a "deal" here?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We were quoted that but we didn't want to pay more than €65-70m, when we moved over to Gyokeres they came back wanting to do a deal, but it was too late.

How much wages are you paying him?
That was another sticking point
----------------------------------------------------------------------

£160k a week, in line with what Cunha and Mbeumo are getting.

Not sure. Pretty standard at United that players get a 25% increase when we qualify for the CL, other than that don't know.

Hoped that has been stopped.

Refreshing that this summers signings salaries are a far cry from being stuck in that last rut of having to give every new player above £250-300k to be in line with the other shiny new players.

Of course there is no guarantee of any signing working out, but at least they are more sensible in terms of what is being offered. No issue with taking risks, sometimes you have to do, but there has to be an element of control over them. We are obviously still a wealthy club that can afford big wages - although it is still a world away from us (well most of us) that 150 grand is considered a 'sensible wage'

Any likelihood of Sesko starting vs Arsenal? I can’t see it even if all the medical is done today and he’s unveiled tomorrow. No pre season or time training with the side. Maybe if we were playing one of the promoted sides or something.

Could be worth having him as sub and bringing him on for the last 10 minutes to help us defend our two goal lead.

Yep, 80th minute sub for Hojlund, to let him get a standing ovation after just completing a hattrick to give us a 6-4 lead.

If he’s not moved clubs then I’d rather Hoijlund start with Cunha and Mbeumo either side in the 10s than what we saw vs Everton with both new signings out of position (Cunha on the right and Mbeumo central, Bruno left).

Or play Zirkzee instead of starting matches with ten men.

He’s not played a minute in pre season.
