Good intro RFB and welcome to the new season.
Atm it’s hard to see how we are going to get rid of the Nottingham Forest Nil, title we have quite rightly inherited during pre-season.
Whilst we have now established that we will be playing in the Europa League, its possible/hopeful that our search for signings will ramp up, strong rumours of MacAtee joining, and possibly one or two others, worryingly none of which will add fire power to our mis-firing attack.
The worry is that our form from the end of last season will continue into the new one, and even a repeat of the Brentford visit, which finished 2-0 to the Bees, could happen.
Here’s hoping that we do get some firepower added to our ranks before Sunday, and that the defence remains as steadfast as its been throughout the friendlies.
My guess is one goal may well be enough to settle this affair, and with hope more than expectation I’m going for a Garibaldi victory, though another 0-0 wouldn’t surprise me in the least.
I’m also wondering how much of the Europe saga has been a distraction, and hoping it can all be put to bed, though I doubt Palace will be too happy when we rock up there a week on Sunday, could be quite feisty, though we’ll save that for another thread.

Lovely to be back!
Looking like we might add McAtee to the squad before this one who has shed loads of talent
Mixed feelings around our summer but still fancy us to battle through and grab a 1-0
Welcome back everybody, thanks for posting bear.
This could be an exciting season, Nuno and Edu have spent the big man’s money wisely.
Ndoye to start on the right today in what will otherwise be a very familiar looking team.
We need points on the board before we start our Europa campaign. Forest to boss this one 2-0
1-0
Brentford can't see Wood for all those tree's
Really good performance so far, we could do with a second goal before half time.
Brentford showed how dangerous they can be.
MGW really looking up for this one.
Can’t really see why that is NOT a penalty, ball travels a long way, player moves his hand to the ball, looked deliberate to me.
If it stands that is a beautiful goal, looks onside to me, excellent cross and finish.
Stunning first half. Superb, just superb!!!
Just keep a clean sheet, and I don’t even care if we just shut up shop.
No more counterattack headless chickens..we’re taking the game to the opposition. Nuno is class 👏
I just hope we don't take our foot off the gas in the 2nd half. This game is won, let's just do it in style and finish the game above Man C in the table.
Soft penalty, not quite sure what Sangare is thinking, unfortunately we have given the a foot hold into the game, now lets go and put this to bed.
Promising start to the new season, good performance, shame about conceding, but that is really the only minor negative, on an otherwise very impressive display.
Even with VAR not giving any of two penalties, we were still more than good enough.
Onto Palace, next week, and that really could be tasty.
COYR’s.
Forest 3–1 Brentford. First opening-day win since 2017. Last time we opened with a 3-goal winning margin? Coventry away, 1996.
So good to be back, and looking like a proper team as well 😊
