We have patriots living rough, British families on endless housing waiting lists, food banks becoming the norm, kids going to school hungry, prisons at breaking point.
Genuine asylum seekers or not, it is not sustainable. At some point, we HAVE to start putting Brits first.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And here we have the utter, objective lie that there is a causal connection between deprivation suffered by people born in the UK and the arrival of asylum seekers. Those who fulminate about patriots living rough, lack of housing, food poverty, etc. as justification for curbs on migration, while ignoring or opposing economic policies that could directly address all of these things, aren't genuinely interested in any of those issues. They just want to get rid of the brown people. Similarly, those who leap on anything kind of terror incident or sеxual assault story if the perpetrator isn't white (or hasn't yet been confirmed as such) but stays silent if the pаedo / rаpist / mass shooter is an indigenous Brit, they don't care about the victims. They just want to demonise brown people.
RDD comes back under various personas, with different opinions about football, varying levels of personality disorder on display. But time and again he's consistent on this subject.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You are no different in denying that it's a problem at all and shouting down and calling racist anyone who raises it as an issue. Is that any different from any right winger caller all migrants a problems?
I have a wife who has worked in the NHS in hospitals in East London and Kent for 25 years, I have 2 mates in the MET and while being moderate and good people they will agree that immigration is not cause of all our problems but it is a problem, for many different reasons. When my second son was born, he was born in a new maternity unit (East London) which by the time it was completed it was already too small to serve the local population which had grown significantly in the intervening period largely due to migration. That's +13 years ago, when migration was in the 10s not 100s of thousands and that is an anecdote that is proof of nothing but it is an example of the pressures that of large scale migration brings.
To deny such uncontrolled migration is an issue and shutting down any voice against it, categorising them as all wanting brown people gone, is as divisive, harmful and reckless as the RW rhetoric that floods the media.

Tbf most of the protests I've read about seem to be about people not wanting hotels in their communities to be filled up with exclusively single men, rather the economical impact.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The argument they're being sexist as well as racist isn't a good one tbf.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's a legitimate issue.
You get more trouble from single men than you do single women or families.
Especially single males with nothing to lose, that don't understand social norms in this country.
It's less an issue of economic ability to support these people and becoming more of a social issue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a bit of a stretch. Are you honestly saying the people who are turning up to vent spleen at these hotels have any idea, or care, if there are are women and and children in there.
What do you mean by "nothing to lose" and "social norms" in your last statement?
How do claim asylum in this country without physically being here?

Our house needs putting in order and that will rely on immigration to a fairly large extent, but we have to be smart about it.
I think many people feel that there is no control and no plan and that vacuum is then just filled with extreme views on both sides. The debate polarises with the lefties calling everyone else racists and the RW pumping out their misleading propaganda.
No one in power, not even the PM, is properly and honestly explaining the problems this country faces and how migration needs to be part of the solution.
Sorry out on site visits. Can someone cover for me? Focus on how bad local white Christians are. Thanks

Why are they not wanting to deal with are own local white criminals? They are happy with them raping are children in are churches?
Why don’t these knuckle draggers that are crying about these people complain about their governments foreign policies that are causing these people to escape their countries?
In a few years time you’re gonna see Palestinians in their droves trying to come here as well. The latest stat shows most of the boat crossings are coming from Afghanistan, and we’ve had a great record with that country haven’t we?

No one's complaining about the Ukrainian refugees bro, they're alright. It's just the brown ones we don't like.
If they ended up homeless like many Ukrainians are now instead of being placed in these hotels we'd all be happy.

For example, the brown people coming to Europe the last 10-20 years starts with the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, the Arab spring and other wars that have created a global refugee and displaced persons crisis out of the middle east. None of these people prefer to freeze their ass off in Europe as opposed to their own countries, but their counties have been ruined mostly.
They never demonstrated or complained about the multitudes of deaths and acute human suffering brought by these wars and some even supported these wars, toppled seven countries in 5 years and we're proud of it.
But now the people don't know what hit them as suddenly they see all these brown people coming over by any means possible and wonder what the fack is going on. Demonstrating for their govt to save them, only finally realising when the effects of the wars have reached their doorstep.
A lot of these cuuuunts are probably on social media cheering on the Zionist entity obliterating Palestinians to pieces

Too many unemployed patriots having kids they can't afford. What would you do about lazy patriots?
Devonshire, so I'm "no different", am I?
I put it to you that I haven't said concern about immigration is in itself problematic or racist. My argument is that placing it at the level of national emergency, with the implication (and sometimes outright assertion) that our fundamental socio-economic problems are caused by too much immigration, is both dishonest and racist. The hysteria we have at the moment, the concerted attempts to frame it as the central national crisis - that is dishonest and racist. Looking at migration in a sober, practical way, absolutely which includes assessing the total numbers of incoming migrants we can absorb each year, is perfectly welcome. And for instance, I thought your statement earlier in this thread seemed reasonable, and certainly not racist.
Our political establishment has allowed the asylum system to corrode and fall apart. It became politically toxic to process claims in an efficient way, primarily because that leads to accepting that a majority of claimants are genuine refugees. This results in unsustainable build-ups of people stuck in hotels, barges, barracks, creating genuine logistical issues while preventing human beings from getting on with their lives as they wish to. All of this caused by political inertia at best / wilful sabotage of the asylum system at worst because of the way our national conversation frames the issue of asylum claimants and immigration more generally as a problem, and where the debate is entirely around 'how do we reduce the numbers?', and never around 'how do we make the system work more effectively, with better outcomes for society?'
If you equate that outlook with shutting down reasonable voices and the equivalent to Farage/Tommy Robinson on the other side of the debate, then I'm afraid I think much less of you than I used to.

In this area the other day we had someone spray paint the St George's Cross on a roundabout and said that immigrants that don't integrate when moving to a different country, and that want to impose their way on life on an area, should get the f*** out. This was done with no hint of irony...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
TBF a St George's flag is a little easier to paint than your Dragon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's still a 'foreign' flag though here!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, i was joking. That said, I dont think flying a foreign flag constitutes forcing their way of life upon you / an area.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was only (half) joking too but the attitudes of some do show a hypocrisy in those that are anti-immigrants.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Only if you consider an English man living in Wales the same as an Iraqi or Somalian.

I have always said I don't mind immigrants from anywhere, but that we needed housing, school places, medical facilities etc first.
But you are quite correct about the disparity in wealth which needs addressing.

Just because the number of protestors is relatively small, it doesn't mean that the number of people that align with the supporters is relatively small.
