Something sorely amiss at Celtic now. I’ve always backed the board in running our club professionally, but this now seems deliberate in a cash raising exercise for a potential sale.

Can’t explain it any other way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That seems the most obvious explanation, either way they need to gtf.

There is no excuse for going into the last day of the window in need of 4 players.

I cant believe anyone thought these chumps could get what we need, nicholson has shown to be very poor the last 4 windows.

he needs to go, and Peter "doesn't make executive decisions" Lawwell has to go as well. For someone not involved in big decisions he gets a hefty pay packet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Desmond needs to sell up as well, Lawell and Nicholson are his stooges, all the board are, I don't see how this changes until they all eff off.

Anyone in their job who fails to deliver on such a regular basis would be fired. Nicholson and Lawwell have got to go and they should take Rodgers with them.

Credit to Rangers for showing some real ambition in this window.

13 players acquired and maybe even one or two more to come as well as some absolute dug meat shifted. Of course some of the buys will flop and you can already work out who some of them are.

Celtic have shown no ambition whatsoever. It was telling that we still have Scales as a first pick yet there was no mention at all of another CD even being looked at.

I suppose if Tierney can get fit and a couple of others come good then we might be ok.

If Celtic and Rangers were level on points right now then I'd make Rangers favourites. As it stands i think the gap will be less than 6 points at the end.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
6/1 Rangers to win the league. I'd never bet against my team but if I was a bear I'd be all over that.

There is a real problem off the pitch and a real problem on it.

brendanbaw has peaked again, this is his last season and it has to be. He has also made a cvnt of himself by yoyoing back and forth on whether the board are doing a good job or not.

Who they get to replace him troubles me, they are lazy, couldnt get howe so PL's son knows a guy, strachan offered the job at cheltenham, deila was meant to be an assistant but fvck it, he'll do. Rodgers was available again so he will do.

Their handling of the football side of the club is shocking.

moss left in 2017 and gave an interview stating the following:

"“The most we could pay would be around £3m, and we had two criteria: did the player have the ability and character to compete against the likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, AC Milan? And did they have the potential to be sold at a huge profit?"

read that again, read how fvcking ridiculous that criteria is.

since he left we have had congerton, hammond, penrice, lawwell jnr, cooper, and now tisdale. All trying to convince these whanks to buy players.

6 in 8 years, is it likely tat they are all awful at their job or is it likely that the criteria laid out above by moss makes this damn near impossible?

Lumped hiring strachans lad who used to manage a gold shop.

clubs a joke.

Utterly shambolic but let's be honest we seen it all coming

There is no defending our board

The worst thing is had Rodgers any decent attacking philosophy we could be 9 points clear.

If Russell Martin's signings work out this could be his "Ange" moment and we could see ourselves throwing the league away.

I am looking forward to a new manager but I am concerned about our ability to win this league with the attacking options we have. A lot of hope on 2 new wingers

As for the Europa League package. I know there is a boycott noise happening but I will be there. If I don't buy it then someone else will at a higher price. CSJnr2 has started to show an interest in going to games so after 10 years of taking CSJnr1 to the game and bonding time I am getting that with CSJnr2 and when he can't be bothered I have plenty of family who will take my tickets. Plus there is a good group of us around my seats including a few JAers - though one of them has made as many appearances as Tillio

I bet getting away tickets is still impossible and those boycotting the EL and HCTS will stilll manage to get hampden tickets if and when we make it

Genuine cant make sense of this at all.

Regardless if rodgers is staying or going surely you still refresh the squad every window anyway.

Aren't we supposed to have a director of football that makes signings regardless of who the manager is?

People say we are just incompetent but I dont buy that as we are good when it comes to selling players. So clearly they know how these negotiations work.

Very flat and feels like we are heading for covid mk2

they have beat me down the last few years, taken the enjoyment out of watching celtic right out of me.

i've seen celtic lose games and that would never stop me, but watching celtic pass the ball about the back 4, watching the clubs greed grow and grow, none of it sits right with me.

Europea league tickets will come out at 120 i'd bet.

Ginger.....you still gonna buy the Europa package?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Absolutely.

posted 4 weeks, 1 day ago

As Ginger said-there’s something clearly amiss at board level. I don’t know how hoarding so much cash makes them more attractive-it just seems to make them more vulnerable, but I can’t think why they want to have so much sitting wasting away in the bank.

We’re not run as a football club. Said before-I pay my season ticket money to watch the best team we can have on the park. POV jnr was down at Celtic last night and they could see Nicholson through the windows, watching sky sports and he literally had his head in his hands. They eventually shut the blinds.

No Europa league tickets for me - and I think we’ll be lucky to sell 30k of the packages. Season tickets increased again this year-why?

Think the AGM is today, and with the questions being vetted as always they won’t be taken to task properly.

Heads should roll over this.

It’s not the cash hoarding as such, albeit it’s a key indicator. On a sale, cash is just converted like for like with neither a downside or a benefit.

It’s the reduction in running costs which will (all else being equal) increase the margins and profitability of the business.

And (sit down for this); it will be seen as being very well run in taking emotion out of making the business successful by immediately reacting to us losing out on the CL riches. A poorly run business would panic and rush out to buy more players.

I know the emotions of being a football supporter won’t accept this but I’m talking purely from a business perspective. As a supporter who travels hundreds of miles to each and every game I attend, often with overnight stays, I’m as angry at the lack of activity as anyone else, and I find it inexplicable unless as I say, we’re building for a sale or maybe some new investment. But after this debacle I wouldn’t be placing bets on it.

The issue with the sale is that apparently DD turned down close to £200m for his shares less than 12 months ago. That's a 3x+ premium and his lad in Barbados fully expects to inherit.

He's going nowhere IMO.

Also i don't want to be taken over by saudi ownership or americans.

it is imperative that celtic retain their identity, we cannot be a "a club open to all" and then have saudi owners who think my lesbian daughter is an abomination.

posted 4 weeks, 1 day ago

well...we tried

i seriously hope Shin is a player !

Ihnacheo will also knock us back . Seen a tweet ( yes a tweet) saying " theres Bonnie blue knocked us back anaw"

this window has been a complete disaster class . Very poor process , we need to get deals done quicker and secured in a more timely manner .
We are the ultimate in trying to save a few pounds , we really have been our own worst enemy this transfer window and going by Rodgers interviews its clear where the blame lies .

Shut it, you're just an employee. They know he can't walk without being the snake again.
