Ultimately even if we lose, we are on a point per game but realistically performance is key. Against Arsenal we were an aberration every way you looked at it - totally naive.
A more disciplined game from the team is what is required.
I don’t think the result is massive, and think a draw would be a good outcome.
I’m more interested in how we do against a good side at home. Newcastle are in the cohort of sides outside of the elite 3. How we perform will be indicative.
It’s early days for a lot of our new signings, with hopefully more to come.
The run of fixtures after the international break is the real crunch.
Yep, and not for the points (as daft as that may sound). After that debacle at Sheff Wed plus the inevitable defeat at Arsenal (again, not the loss, but the insipid performance) DF needs a performance and how.
Regardless of result, we need a performance and keys I am looking for:
^^^
And Farke needs to prove he can set a team up
on a week by week basis and not a blanket "it's our
DNA" approach. Plus, he needs to prove he can
adapt, tactically, in game. And try a sub window
before the 70th minute.
Win 3-0 and Farke etc think we don't need those goal scorers and creators that also score
Not scoring probably means more effort is made to sign those key players
It's called losing a battle to win the war
I want those key players hence I will take
a penalty win or an own goal win or even 0-0
The bigger picture is far more important
Win tomorrow and no key signings, would anyone take that ?
Personally i dont think Piroe should be anywhere near the first team for this one.
Well we know Okafor is injured and likely to miss the game. Typical Leeds that
He's already stated in his pre-match presser that he's
reverting to his favorite 4-2-3-1. Who starts?
Keeper - Perri
Back 4 - Bogle / Rodon / Bijol / Gudmunson
(Harsh on Pascal)
DM 2 - Stach / Longstaff
The 3 - Gnonto / ????? / Okafor (if fit)
F - DCL
Three days left in the window and we still have
glaring holes needed to be filled.
Piroe didn't score in loads of championship matches when we had a more attacking line up
It stands to reason we will find it harder to score with 3 central midfielders
Piroe looked way way out of his depth against Arsenal which tbf a lot of his teammates did also but against Everton albeit they played appalling by their usual David Moyes standards, Piroe managed to look average to okay so for me there are enough signs to suggest he is a top notch championship player and that's it so definitely shouldn't be starting....Piroe winner incoming 😉
It's the 3rd prem game, so no, not massive at all. Important yes, all home games will be, but referring to it as massive is pressure of itself.
Hopefully the team, roared on by the crowd, will get a good performance and hopefully a positive result.
from what i seen of Okafor the other night i hope he is injured. didn't see anything from him that we didn't already have and would even suggest Aaronson had more of an impact than him and Harrison def did. Think Perri looked poor distribution wise and both okifor and lonstaff offered nothing so theres 40/50 mill spunked against the wall on them. throw in dcl and nmecha and there is 5 players who look worse than what we had. If we had put in a performance against wendies i would have been confident of a draw at least against newcastle but after our display i cant see us getting anything. We have been shopping like billionaires on temu and it shows

I hope so too but I don't have a very good feeling about tomorrow and will be really chuffed if we get anything.
Squad as it is filled with injury prone players doesn't exactly fill with me with confidence. Already Amps, AO and Ofikor missing for tomorrow and with news the Brighton player loan has collapsed the owners I would say have not done a good enough job in giving Farke the best chance possible of keeping us up....Desperately need some uplifting exciting news to happen in the next 3 days otherwise I think we're gonna have to endure weekly defeats and some bad ones at that.

Shame if that loan has collapsed, he looked a great option. Maybe doesn't/didn't fancy a relegation scrap, so has more attractive options?
Owners, the contract kings, need to work some magic or they give DF excuses ...........
When did we start writing players off after one game. Its madness

Exactly this to my mind.
We are relegation favourites.
We have an average squad.
Our survival story will be home games v lower half of the league backed by our amazing fans.
We have to be prepared for a lot of losses, but we also need to be prepared to support the team and players to hopefully get those few wins and draws required.

It's the injuries to Amps and Tanaka that has really lowered the mood I think Oatwood plus Okefor appears to be out as well and the lack of adequate replacements and any real difference makers although there is now strong rumours on twitter Hamer is going to be a Leeds player so not our first choice but better than nothing.

I was commenting on what was a very lacklustre performance. Seems to have no pace unlike what we were led to believe and showed no worthy Ball skills to write home about. Must have been at least 5th choice and shows why we valued others more. Like I said looks like we're shopping at temu

Fair enough and yes Okefor, Perri and the other new signings I agree have to be given more than one or two games before bring written off, but I still worry about some of their injury records that Leeds seem to have a knack for attracting sick note players like moths to a flame.
