Waste of money, Lammens makes far more sense as he’s cheaper, reportedly has potential to be great, can be eased into the first team. Martinez is an average keeper who will demand high wages and need replacing next summer.

We need someone ready to go straight into the team after the international break though ideally.

Bayindir is simply not up to the task and I do not trust Onana right now; his head looks a mess.

Don’t trust onana at any point, never mind just now

The love of the unknown compared to a tried and tested quantity is always amusing to me. We must be signing an English based goalkeeper now.

Rosso

Ideally we buy a top quality experienced keeper but for me that isn’t Martinez and I’m not sure what else there is this late. Outside of that the best we can do is get an understudy with the potential to be no1 soon.

I have more trust in Onana than Bayindir, that’s not saying much but he has at least shown he can be decent for us. It’s wishful thinking but maybe the best we can do right now so late in the window. I have been banging on about the importance of getting a no1 keeper and starting CM all summer.

No. Never. Anyone that thinks otherwise needs to take a visit to Specsavers immediately.

He was potm August last year and started the season pretty well, he was competing for the golden gloves for quite a few months too. He’s got some great saves in him but he’s just so inconsistent and when he makes a mistake it’s a big one. Bayindir is so much worse though.

This team needs an experienced goal keeper that can command and instil confidence from the get go

Martinez ticks those boxes.

I don’t think he is. Onana is garbage, not once has he impressed me. I’d rather sell onana and keep the Turk
. Onana cannot be trusted

Onana has played for 2 other top European clubs where he was first choice and playing well, Bayindir had only even played in Turkey where his own fans were quite vocal about how poor he is. They’re not comparable.

Yes they are. Onana made mistakes everywhere he’s been. He’s shiiit. He’s single handedly knocked us out of Europe. The guy is a liability.

The latest is Villa will look to Lammens if Martinez moves to us. Classic United move.

That would be peak utd

And single handedly knocked us out of the cup, just this week.

Another thing Martinez offers over Onana, is he has the personality / confidence to make.it at United.

We will get Martinez, Villa will get Lammens for a nice cheap price, Martinez will be finished in a couple of years and Villa will have the worlds best young GK.

Personality and confidence is the only thing Onana has.

Lindelof signing for Villa though, so any improvement they may make in GK situation will be immediately undone.

BREAKING:

Emi Martinez has told Aston Villa he has AGREED personal terms with Man United

"He is DESPERATE to go to Manchester United and may not be in the Aston Villa squad for tonight's game.

"He is PUSHING to go to Manchester United!"

Understand Aston Villa have made formal approach with Royal Antwerp for Senne Lammens!

He’s the main option alongside Diogo Costa in case Dibu Martínez ends up leaving the club.

Manchester United are in talks with Villa for Dibu… and #AVFC now think of Lammens.

wtf is going on?

Just listening to the latest Talk of the Devils, and the crew is talking about how 4 of the 6 goals we've conceded so far this season could be put squarely on the goalkeeper.

Whatever the solution is, that just cannot continue.

A quarter of your goals, a third of your goals? OK, you can deal with that. But two thirds of them?

It'll kill us if we can't sort this out.

I can see the logic of going for an experienced keeper who won't be overawed by the role. But it's fairly certain, isn't it, that if we go for Martinez, Lammens at Villa (who we profiled and targeted and had a clear run at) turns out to be the best keeper of his generation, while Martinez is basically OK at United with the odd howler.

If we buy Lammens, he'll be shiiiit of course.

We buy lamemens, make him onana 2, THEN swap with Villa for Martinez.

We should buy Lammens also buy Martinez in a 'swap' with Sancho in a PSR carve up. Then loan them Lammens for two seasons.
