"Anyone else hearing/reading that Brendan is away?"

Not yet but it's surely a live possibility. It's still the morning after the night before or at least it feels that way and with the international break, plenty of time for things to happen.

Elite or not this is his last season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The cynic in me thinks part of the reason for lack of ambition this window I said before to have a bigger pot to entice the new guy next summer but also have the option to cuck Rodgers for another 3 years and dangle a carrot for the Jan window - sign up and get access. He'd be mad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't know if it was here that I read it or somewhere else, that Desmond will find it easier to divest of his shares with a nice big pile of cash for a new guy to splurge or line his pockets ...rumourmongers having a blast.

God, can you imagine Ange coming back? Would be like shaigging an ex. The old familiar softness of their lips; the smell of their perfume; the veins in their cawwk.

Of course it would! The market cap of the shares plus prefs is £243m. How many voting & non-voting prefs he holds is opaque but he defo holds 34.5% of the ordinary shares and market rumours suggest voting rights overall of 40%.

£200m he'd been offered for it all according to Mags' rumour? Possible given a reasonable premium for control and if £100m of the £243m was cash in the bank. Still, all it would take is a Euro league or scrapping of national borders for that market cap to double or treble imho.

Whatever, Brett & Andrea (hubba!) are not gonna have to worry about any cost of living crisis.

You’ll never work for another boss like him, basically a chilled out entertainer
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I suppose he's created an atmosphere where he's a friend first and a boss second... Probably an entertainer third?

Transfermarkt (I know, I know) puts Celtic's current squad value at €132.6m. Rangers' is at €105.4m, with Aberdeen a distant third at €23.8m. Celtic still have comfortably the strongest squad and are clear favourites for the league. I get the disappointment and your squad is weaker than it was, but the reality is you've still got clearly better players than the competition.

Wildly, €38m of that Rangers squad valuation is made up of three players - Mikey Moore (€18m), a loan whose value is based on potential that's probably still years from being realised, Niko Raskin (€10m), who our manager doesn't even rate enough to put in the matchday squad, and Nasser Djiga (€10m), another loan whose valuation is surely just a typo.

Bamford being touted noo

Got the name for Glasgow TBF.

posted 6 days, 4 hours ago

A striker has to be signed by 11pm tonight to play in the Ropey. That's not happening.

posted 6 days, 4 hours ago

If Celtic are left with no option than free transfers to fill the CF position, forget Ihneacheao and Bamford. We’d be as well going all in on the chithousery and getting Mario Ballotelli 🤣

Although I like the sound of this fella: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eva-wankewai/profil/spieler/481903

Bamford is perma injured is he not?

Had a good season about 5 years ago but toiled since.

Wouldn’t be pushing the boat out for Bamford tbh.

After all that Ajax have stalled on the Dolberg deal - their window closes tonight.

Of course if there's an opening we could pay the player to buy out his contract making him a free agent but that would involve effort so we won't.

Aye, decent player a few years back, but an absolute sick note for long enough now. Laughable (again) if this is true.

Yet another reason why you don’t leave deals of this importance until deadline day. Could’ve been done weeks ago if we had a remotely professional operation, and we might well be £20m+ better off with CL football. That would’ve involved a bit of graft though.

Amazed Iheanacho is only 28. Celtic getting his peak years.

He will get a barrel load of chances at Celtic so I’m sure he will improve on his recent record.

Big sigh of relief from the Celtic fans at getting this one over the line? Alls well that ends well 👍
