Sorry to hear that Dubs, hope you recover soon.
That lineup does not fill me with confidence. Although good to see Ricky back.
What are they playing at giving Luke a 4 year deal? Unless Jon is planning for us to be in the Championship for that length of time! 😄

Probably about our strongest line up ?? I prefer to see Faes rather than Okoli. Winks back in as well. Hope we might get a glimpse of Carranza second half.
Agree with Nuneaton regarding four year deal for cool hand Luke.

A nice snapshot just now but I feel Fatawu could have been utilised. It’s been a busy day for him so far.

5 comments on a match about sums it up, although it wasn't the worst 0-0 draw I've seen. The negative play is truly dreadful, an absolute bore fest, keeping the ball by constantly playing it backwards instead of towards the opponent's goal. It's also dangerous when the opposition press - as happened yesterday several times we lost the ball near to our goal, Coventry then being in a great position to capitalise - a better team would have punished us.
We're not quite at Puel levels of keeping the ball at any cost but we're miles away from the level that Marti indicates he wants us to play at. I can't see us scoring freely with Ayew at no 9, he just doesn't spend enough time in the box; maybe Carranza will improve the situation, he had some nice touches. Luke Thomas doesn't help, he's so one footed he mostly looks for a back pass. We don't press high either, which indicates a defensive mindset by Cifuentes, or at least a lack of trust in his players. I do quite like the look of our new JJ - promising. Give it time I suppose.

Blacksy (99 to you shower, or 98 or whatever) has re-emerged. I’m sure he has some great input on yesterday’s fixture, and probably on matters of a general nature.
I’m no expert as you will all know by now, but that was a vast improvement on what I’ve witnessed so far this season from my once comfy, 15 year old, DFS New Year Sale, in dire need of replacement but can’t afford a new one, scratched to b”’-@ery 3-piece.

That’s good news about Blacksy Downsouf; I, for one, will be glad to see him back. I don’t think many of us can argue that he wasn’t bang on about the club and particularly the manner in which it was being run. There is a glimmer of light I think, even with yesterday’s performance, which considering the manner in which Coventry have been performing wasn’t a bad outcome. And it could have been better with a little more luck.
James looks like a sound addition, and although it’s too early yet to know for sure, Carranza looks like he might be another one. We have options to buy both permanently. Ramsey has a good reputation as well, so we could be in for a decent season, points deductions permitting.

The Sky panel of Jobi McAnuff, Tony Mowbray & Luke Chambers were interesting to listen to prior to the match on Saturday, highlighting the need for City to have a high scoring forward if they are to maintain a challenge at the top. There was praise for Ayew’s efforts so far, but it’s insufficient. Is this why City have signed Carranza, Warwick? I know very little about him, but he doesn’t have a great track record as a goalscorer, looking at his profile.

He did well enough in the MLS in the US, but I think his time at Feyenoord was hit by injury. Time will tell.
Great news if 98 is back.
No comments from Dubs, hope he's OK.
I liked JJ mk ll, very promising, particularly as he's only 21. Don't get me wrong about Ayew, I like him a lot, very capable and hard working, but he isn't the number 9 we need, it's not his game.
I'm hopeful we'll do well this season, time will tell whether that's well enough given the looming points deduction. When do we find out about that btw?
