I think players like Matic, Pogba & Herrera were generally good players for us. We have to consider the context of their time with us: any of those players would likely have stood out more and been thought better of had they had the opportunity to play in the well-rounded, balanced teams packed full of serial winners and genuine top quality that Carrick did.
But I agree with the thrust of the argument. We’ve really failed to build a compatible midfield with genuine top quality and balance for quite some time.
I’d love to see us in a 4-3-3 under someone, with Anderson, Wharton & Mainoo. Three English players with a real blend of complimentary skill sets. Whether those players would be attainable, I don’t know!

Cunha looks good. This dude is the sort of player who we need to be giving the ball more than any other cant on this team.
The others meh. People are excited over very minor things these days at this club, e.g. a footballer being able to control a football with close control as if something like shouldn't be an absolute minimum for a premier league footballer.

Midfield is a major problem no doubt, but so is quality from the wing back position.
In saying that, and I don’t give a fig who disagrees with me because I know I’m right on this, our lack of effort is what totally kills us.
Look at the last game vs Chelsea, started like a house on fire, forced the issue and deserved to be 2 or 3 up come the break. There was none of that today, no belief, no effort, and no quality for the most part.
I’m fed up calling out managers, it’s a long time coming, but most of them players are not fit to represent the badge. Being outworked by other teams week in, week out 9 times out of 10.
So what, replace the manager? The same thing will happen with these players regardless of system. I’m actually staggered some of them have even made it as a professional footballer because a good few of them wouldn’t be starting in League 1.

I’m not making any excuses for Amorim or his subs mate. Not at all. But with that game last week, we forced the issue, got the man sent off, and then controlled the game up until Casemiro had his brain fart.
My issue isn’t attitude, it’s application. There was probably 102 minutes of football earlier including time added on, we probably managed to play football in about 6-8 minutes of that time. Shocking.

The major reason for this is because the owners keep hiring shiiit managers and signing off of shiiit footballers.
Our new owners haven't a clue what they're doing, which is evident by their decisions over the last year and a bit.
Ruben should be sacked, and an interim manager should come in and steady the ship while the season is still salvageable.
The owners need to hire a competent permanent manager who isn't an arrogant, stubborn twaat, and who suits the players that we currently have, and one that doesn't have to sell half the team and buy his own players to be successful, which is the exact problem we've had with Eth and Ruben.

Sesko looks like a disaster already. who actually signs off on these players.
I think we should ban buying any players over the age of 26 looking for a big payout, and for the time being no players from foreign leagues that we just dont know if they will work in the premiership.
we have changed goalkeepers, defence, midfield, strikers, manager and part owners. the one constant. Is Bruno.

This is a major factor to United’s problem.
The Glazers, we know all about and their incompetance was confounded in the post Fergie/Gill years with the calamity of the Woodwood and Arnold tenures as the CEO and their problems were well identified and have been discussed by most United fans and commentators for years. INEOS have been no better really. Just because they answered the Glazers call for further investment into the club, with a bid for full ownership at a non-specific date, sometime in the future, and that they were seen by most of us (me included) as better alternative to a rogue Johnny Arab state ownership bid because Jim is a civilised business man, plus a lifelong, Manc, with British values and implied he was even possibly a regular supporter of Busbys and the Docs Red Army back in the day when he was a youth (err, he wasn’t)…. Well, they have turned out to be just as clueless as the Glazers in their own ways at running an elite football club, making daft decisions across the board, in recruitment at board room level, in all footballing matters, and with their relationships with their staff (which INEOS have been well known for before their time at MUFC) and the fact that they treat their paying customers (who are the bedrock of Man United’s long term success) with complete contempt.
