I think we can make serious upgrades at striker and Keeper as well. I don’t think Vic costs us too many, but rarely wins us any either and his distribution is poor.

Everyone wants an elite striker - we desperately need a front man with Solanke work rate and 15-20 league goals a season. We will have to break the bank for that, but they do exist

I don't think you should be panicking about a draw with Bodo or Glimt. Their squad cost 20 million euros, which is the same as the market value of Wilson Odobert, who is pretty good. A draw against a team with those kind of resources should not be sniffed at.

The Spurs squad cost 891 million Euros, which actually only gets you 6.5 Florian Wirtzes, who is crap.. So not a lot. So Spurs actually did very, very well to get a draw.

My thoughts are that whatever happens we probably want to be spending quite large in 2 or 3 positions.

If the Lewis family are going to throw some money at us then, unless some of our attacking options above turn out to be superstars, then really we gonna have to spend on quality across the front line + a CM.

In that situation, do we really want to also be targeting a new keeper. Vic is an amazing shot stopper, one of the best. The goal vs BHA was a rare error from a shot, his weakness comes from his crosses (doing better at the moment) and his distribution (nothing better than average). May be Kinsky takes over, he's another question mark. I would like to see him given a chance. He seems a great stopper, more powerfully built than Vic and very good with his feet.

You make good points, but you have digressed from using the industry standard currency of an 'Antony.'

Bodo cost around one-fifth of an Antony

Spurs squad is valued at nearly 9 Antonys

I think Vic is an obvious player we can upgrade on. Aerially poor, can’t distribute, has a bad habit of parrying into danger.

He is a great shot stopper, but even in the Europa final it was VDV that saved another error from him.

Was impressed with Kinsky against Donny, I wouldn’t be against giving him more minutes.

Bodo’s wages are less than 1 Sancho’s wages also.

Bayindir wouldn’t start for any side in the Norwegian top flight

My current favourite stat though is that Pahlinha this season has as many Prem goals as Cunha, Mbuemo and Sesko combined - £200m against a loan fee

The industry standard remained as "a Carroll" for many years, or old money as it is now known, until it was revalued and converted to "an Antony" in 2022.

Can't really disagree with much of this.

I'd like to see how we look when we have Solanke, Kulu and Maddison back. Frank hasn't even been able to select our best team yet when all of our best players have been available. We'll still need a LW to come and fit into our first XI but imagine we are able to work into the midfield Maddison alongside Kudus and Simons with Solanke feeding on balls going into the box. It has the potential to be very good.

Put a proper left winger in there and it could be very good.

Yesterday was a disastrous performance but okay result and Wolves people are being silly about given we never beat them anyway.

Overall we’re in a good position and well on course for a top 7 finish and qualifying for Europe again. Another shot at the Europa would not be a disaster, we’re never winning the CL anyway.

Where to start with this. The thing is that your article speaks of fine tuning with a little stitch here, a little needle there, when I actually think this squad needs major surgery.

If you were to measure the squad as it stands without consideration for those injured, the only players I'm happy with are Romero, VDV, Bergvall and, at a push, Kudus. So that's 3-4 decent players surrounded by utter trash. We're 7-8 players short of having a decent 11. Then there's the rest and frankly, they're all just squad fillers. If you add Maddison and Kulu to those decent players, that's 7-8 decent players from a squad of, what, 25? It's poor. Really poor. We've been hoodwinked into believing our squad is better than it is based on figures paid but the stats don't lie. Of all the young talent we've bought, only Bergvall cuts it. Of all the big money signings, I'm not really sure I can lean on any that have been a success. Recruitment has been utterly abysmal for quite some time now. Even Paratici had a hell of a lot of misses to go with the hits.

I think Frank is playing conservatively, not just because he has certain instincts, but because he knows the limitations of the squad. It's really poor by our standards.

If Sonny were still here, he'd be one of the first names on the team sheet. That says everything about how badly we've bought. He's better than anything we've currently got on the left, by some margin.

We need a top drawer spine, GK, CM & CF, as well as a quality LW & decent cover at LB.

You say Frank is a top manager, but he's not a proven top manager, he will be winging it over a large part of this season, learning as he goes, that's what this season will tell us, a lot more about Thomas Frank

Indeed, time always tells.

In my opinion he is a top manager and I think he will prove that this season.

If we have some slightly better fortune with injuries i think we have a squad capable of top 6. In the mix with the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle, Villa....all of whom we sit comfortably above right now

I think that's the quality of this squad, so not elite level, but TF has proven he knows how to consistently get the best out of a squad and individuals. Si i expect us to punch our weight, and our weight is 4-7th right now i'd say.

You’ll need all that and more given you were outplayed by a margin by Bodo and were incredibly fortunate to escape with a draw.
