If England deserve it then fine. However, would it not just compound the Kane (pen) name rather than prove otherwise?

If Kane scored the winner from open play like he did after Sterling dived against Denmark, then fair enough.

I’ve a feeling we’ll be deemed to have not deserved it.

Incidentally, Kane has become the fastest player in the history of the top five leagues to hit 20 goal contributions.

Same as Salah though. Loads of goals and assists as his team ran away with their league. Failed to step up on the big occasions to help his team to European success or other trophies. Those are the standards Ballon D'Or winners are measured on. Unless they have ridiculous individual seasons that negate the lack of top level success. Like Kane could well have if he gets a few more pens or taps home when 6-0 up.

This season the Ballon D'Or winner will come from CL or World Cup success. Possibly even if Kane (pen) does score 100 goals.

Hojlund scores twice as many goals this season as Sesko.
